DX 11 tessellation would make it look a thousand times better, yes.
But it can also be done by parallax oclussion mapping.

Either of those would make it look a lot better.
On that picture, the stone-floor in the middle-bottom just looks so flat. Like it's just a normal map.

Hmm.. yeah hehe, that looks a bit weird. But it's not catastrophic. It blends in kinda OK. The stone-floor however, waaah catastrophic!

People bang on about crysis, look at the floor in both these pics and tell me there is a big difference....i think not :)

The NPCs' clothing isn't exactly my favorite: the broom woman's blouse seems to be uncessarily raggedy looking. Whilst this would be a nice touch for lower quality clothes, I can't help but feel Bethesda may still just be making the transition out of Fallout 3's grunge overlay spam. :P

its better than dragon age where every person, even the peasants, looked like they were of the highest nobility haha.
i kind of like the look of the clothes in the skyrim pic because the majority of people in the middle ages were peasants anyways. but i'm sure that they will have a fair amount of middle-class and noble cloths. they should just make them more expensive so i am not dressed as a noble out of the sewers.

The bartender also has a few potions/bottles/jugs behind his head with something weird going on.

There isn't a difference, if you play Crysis on low./edit: except shadows

Has any one motioned that fish before, it looks odd. It can't be a slaughterfish. Does that confirm larger aquatic life?

You state a good point,no doubt.
But not everyone can't run it like that....the game is multi-platform,and if people are happy to play crysis like i've shown, why not skyrim.
Considering it's multi-platform,and the two consoles are 6 years old,it's impressive to me.
Maybe i have lower standards than others.....or maybe i'm more appreciative of what goes in games?
You decide :)

I tend to bend and cross one leg over the other when sitting at a stool or otherwise rest them on one of the supports. It's also possible that (given his skin color) the elf is a Bosmer and he's too short to touch the floor with his feet. :P

Well http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee394/St-frantic1975/TEXTURE.jpg is on LOW graphics. Which means it looks a thousand times worse than high or very high.
Here's my proof for it being low: http://www.thebuzzmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/crysis_low.jpg

If Skyrim was on low or medium, I bet the difference would have been a lot bigger there too.

This is what you should compare the Skyrim interior-picture with:
http://www.crymod.com/uploads/mediapool/neu01avi.jpg
http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/7042/screenshot0012yh5.jpg
http://www.crymod.com/uploads/mediapool/080528t/image1.jpg

Therefore, that comparison you showed is, no offense, completely unjust.

Shadows are on everything, except the bowl to the right infront of the sweeping woman WHICH is right by a candle and yet no shadow.

yep Skyrim is ruined and Todd is a liar saying Shadows are on everything :brokencomputer: :obliviongate: :banghead: :shocking:

Hairs look better :D or rather NEW MODELS <3 lol this thing is akin to the Picture pre Oblivion showing the training room with various weapons and food on the table.

did I mention I like the hairs?

The bowl is being lighted from almost every direction, so there would naturally be little if any indication of shadow. Yeah that was my favorite screen from Oblivion, under that screenshot it said that you can pick up and interact with everything in the game, but of course that wasn't really true for the candles, but I guess the weapons were more important.

Read my obove post.
Again you have a point.
But my point is ,not everyone played crysis like that, and still loved how it looked, you look at it both ways.
But i do understand where your coming from, and at the time crysis was just PC only, and not multi-platorm.
So i could say your pics/examples are un-just too.
We both have points, but like i said in my above post, skyrim still looks impressive to me,considering how old the consoles are and that it's multi-platform,and NOT a PC only game.
Wouldn't you agree?

I think any comparison with Crysis is injust....

...and just wait to see Crysis 2. New game, new engine, better graphics and equal or lower system requirements than C1. That's even more injust :D

I think comparing any open world RPG with a shooter is easily just as unjust. Also I do believe all the screens we have got so far are XBOX screens so show the high end computer is similarly unjust as a comparison. Sure it is nice to show what you'd like to see, but end of the day RPGs just have different resource requirements than shooters.
