This is because Microsoft is stupid.
Firstly, in a business standpoint, what Microsoft is doing is just incredibly...just... :shakehead: . Buying exclusive rights to a DLC for 30 days by shelling out money to Bethesda won't increase sales on any of their services. Who in their right mind would buy an entire console just to play the DLC 30 days earlier? Not to mention that whether the DLC comes earlier on consoles or not, it'll still have similar, if not the SAME sales rate. Look, nobody is going to buy the DLC any differently. I'll still only buy the DLC on PC because that's what I have Skyrim on! And I think my friend who has the console copy will only buy the CONSOLE VERSION! It's simple Microsoft!
Secondly, in a social standpoint, it just shows that Microsoft is greedy. If they just left it alone, then it would just be a normal DLC release date. But no, they needlessly stick their greedy fat noses in Bethesda's face and does something fancy that only will dirty their reputation amongst both console and PC gamers.
Thirdly, to seal the nail on the coffin, Microsoft really doesn't know about Creation Kit, do they? If they're trying to do something like goad PC gamers to not play on PC any more, well it's not going to work. XBOX may have earlier release date but we have Creation Kit, which is basically a thousand DLCs FOR FREE right there. Even if the first two points were null and void, this last point just seals the deal.
