This flow needs adjusted Interplay

So, I followed a link from PCGamer.com through to the Fallout Online beta signup, which turns out to be more of a newsletter signup with a chance at beta selection but that's fine with me. After filling in my info, I get redirected to an utterly generic-looking and almost colorless forum. Weird, but manageable, I'll just go over to the Fallout Online section and see what beta info I can find. Say what? There is no Fallout Online section? How about a Fallout section in general? NO!? Earthworm Jim, Clayfighter, Descent... Sure, they were cool in their time, but now they're dead titles. Finally, I stumble across the "Project V13" section which apparently is the Fallout Online section... does that mean the other 4 Fallout games get no section, even though they were probably the biggest money-making games gamesas had? Come on, I got Earthworm Jim as a stocking stuffer in a jewel case, probably from that $5 game rack in Fred Meyer.

So, after scratching my head wondering at the disorganization of it all, I figure I'll just check my email and get the beta info that. Nope. No emails from gamesas other than the one to activate forum registration. The process needs to be smoothed out gang. If you can't get a flawless system for beta tester's information and feedback (ie, a clear forum with actual and relevant sections) you are really shooting the game in the foot before it even gets started. I know it's early, I know a lot can and will change... I just have to strongly suggest making the user's experience flow through a pre-determined set of pages with clear goals (bragaboutgame.php -> notifyaboutbeta.php -> gathersignupinfo.php -> thanksforsubmitting.php -> forumsignuprequestemail&mailto:user etc etc) rather than just grabbing some info with no confirmation email and dumping the user on a generic phpBB forum that could have been set up by just about anyone in 12 minutes without any clue why they've been forwarded to a forum without warning.

Toodles!

The forum team/FalloutChris hasn't recieved permission to change the Project V13 forum name yet last I've read.

And you should get the first newsletter as a notification of sorts after signing up, might take a while though.

Dude, did you just read my mind? Lmao.. All great points but I have hope that they will smooth it out in the near future. :) "America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and loose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
