This Game is Awesome!

Post » Mon Dec 21, 2009 7:04 pm

Has anyone made one of these, yet? It's all complaining and screaming out there. Obsidian, thanks for a great game. I love it and it's running nearly flawlessly, for me. I love the Strip. It adds quite a bit of contrast to the outside world. May I also speak heresy when I say I love KotOR II, as well. Fellow New Vegas fans, please voice your opinions about the game.

Same here. I think Bethesda is better at world-designing and exploration, but New Vegas improved on nearly everything else, in my opinion I applaud the reusing of a game engine and being able to improve upon an existing structure.

I only ever go at night just for the lights. :)

I have to say even though I have a few bugs it's still well worth the game.

Obsidian left a lot of unfinished stuff in kotor II, an entire questline and a planet.

I would like to nominate Obsidian as a candidate to make more Fallout games in the future.

Yeah, now that I'm past the (PC) bugs and actually playing, this game is really good. I'm not very far into it yet, but I'm really liking the new systems (hardcoe, crafting, etc.). Deep game mechanics FTW!!

ditto

and although it would never happen, I reckon a joint project between Obsidian and Bethesda would make for a damn awesome fallout game

It could work, although Howard and Sawyer would have to fight each other to the death for control of game development. :P

Well, I'm really just hoping for TES V before any partnering up could happen, though.

I don't have any bugs with the game, at all :nope:

Do I still get to be in the club?

I'm sorry for everyone who has a corrupted copy, but maybe they should mail steam and ask if they can have a copy of the one I got, because it's absolutely fine.

No bugs at eight hours in. None. And my processor is officially too slow.

Although I do have oodles of RAM, and a kick ass video card, all I did was screw down the settings to about half of what the game offered with auto-detect, and it runs smooth..

Of course went with the wild wasteland trait.. I'm not spoiling anything but...

Josh.. you got some seriously deranged sickos working for you over there at OB, ya know that? Keep it up :)

I like how while in the midst of doing a quest you'll pick up another three or four quests along the way.

I'm a PS3 player with no bugs, so there's a confirmation of few technical problems with a person playing from each platform. Why is it that some of us have games running fine when others do not?

Love the game, especially the whole new vegas area. on my current character I've spent about 15 hours of time just on the strip/freeside/outskirts of vegas alone.

It was the same thing with FO3. A lot of people were havin' problems. I never had any issues with that game either. Even before the patch :) Funny it's like that, when all the consoles should be the same.

Anyways, i feel sorry for the peeps with all the bugs, just glad that's not the issue for me :D

Those who claim "game is awesome" and "no bugs and glitches" make me wonder,,, because so far a very high number of gamers dislike the glitches and it was so bad that someone forced a game review to be pulled down.

I am sorry, if it was not for the horrible lag and random frequent game locks, I would agree this game is awesome, and I can only suspect that people who likes this game to the "awesome" point are either the developers or folks who knows the developers.

And who would call this game "awesome" if you can only get a perk every 2 level ups?

I would. Because it's meant to be that way.

Oh and btw, I'm not a Dev or friend with any Dev.. ;)

Did you not read the title?
1. The unsatisfied players are typically the loudest and most vocal. People criticize the game for reusing a game engine to give us a game faster and build upon an existing structure, as well, yet I strongly disagree with said people. Who are you to tell me that my love for the game is wrong and false because loving the game must be imposible and is incomprehensible to you and/or some other people? I've had to argue this many times over Fallout 3 with some fellow Fallout 1/2 fans and over Oblivion with some fellow Morrowind fans, and so I really don't care if anyone believes I'm not supposed to love the game. I still love it.
2. I am not related to the development team one bit. I haven't experienced bugs and I love the game.
3. If you don't like the perk system, why should I care? It's an RPG, and I like specialization.
4. opinions, opinions, opinions

Well in the originals you could only pick a perk every 3 levels and they were pretty damn awesome
