This Game is Broken and Terrible

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:23 pm

I've given Skyrim a fair shot, over forty one hours in fact. I loved Oblivion and put in over one thousand hours.
I did not get that far so my complaints will be few, but Skyrim is pathetic. The game looks gorgeous and I personally love their leveling up system.
Before the patch was released I encountered not one problem they were supposedly trying to fix, even if I played for ten hours at a time. NOT ONE. Then the patch came out and I figured I would download it just to be safe. That was a serious mistake, but I'll get back to that in a minute. Meanwhile, from the very first Dragon outside Whiterun to hour forty one of playtime, I encountered 0 Dragons. I wasn't doing the main story so much, but there are definitely supposed to be random spawning dragons. Merging these two points together - I finally come across a Dragon, yay! Turns out it is ludicrously glitched however, to the point of framerate hopping backwards and it cannot be attacked. On top of that, I only have to play about ten minutes now and I experience SEVERE lag, worse then in any game I've played (including even online or on PCs that couldn't handle a game). This happens every time now. EVERY TIME.
My solution was to uninstall the horrible, horrible patch that has definitely broken my game. I could do that of course (I'm on the PS3), but now it will not allow me to open my save files because they are from the patched version of the game.... which is bull, because this 'patch' infected my pre-patch save file as well. I had saved when viewing something particular interesting (a red aurora in the sky). Try to load that file, which is definitely pre-patch, and I receive the same message that the file cannot be loaded because it was made with the patch. In summary, my entire experience is ruined and I can only keep playing the game if I start over completely. While this shouldn't be a big deal, because like any fan of Bethesda you will eventually make more than one character. Being forced too puts an incredibly sour taste in my mouth - I was nowhere near done with my first character. I'm in self-debate right now as to whether I should keep the game around and hope another patch gets released, or trade it in at it's current value for a pre-order next year. Knowing Bethesda there will be another patch, but it will be many months from now and I don't know if it's worth the wait.

If it is anything like the 360. I cleared the cache and then only put in the first patch at start up. For some stupid reason on 360 every time you clear it out you have to repatch all your games as you play them.

So because Skyrim is going through a rough patch (no pun intended) ATM, you decide it's suddenly a broken and terrible game and want to trade it in instead of patiently waiting for the problems to be fixed and possibly enjoy it to the point of playing a thousand hours like you did with Oblivion? Go ahead and trade it in; we could do with less impatient crybabies here.

There are like 9001 other threads about people complaining how the patch ruined their life, im not trying to be rude but people starting one of this threads every 5 minutes instead of searching for another one just clutters the forum with sadness.

I really understand you, and i hope they will make an emergency patch fast. Somehow nowadays this happens to a lot games. The new patch breaks the games :D

Make the paragraphs into seporate paragraphs and I will read it! I dont speak English properly and can do that! Sorta.

If there are less than five sentences it is no longer a paragraph :P

But fine, fine, I get it everybody. My complaint is rather valid, and I don't believe a single one of you that you would not be feeling the same way if your game was ruined. If you HAD to start over after 41 hours you would all be just as pissed. I'm sure I'll stick it out and wait for another patch, but I'll cease complaining for the time being.

Yay, paragraphs! :celebrate:
Edit: Now that it has paragraphs, I can see that it is actually a well-written statement. For the most part, your grammar is pristine. (I did make a few corrections.)

Get it on Xbox? That's what I did. Not a single problem so far.

You made some incorrect corrections, and those are not paragraphs. This is wildly off topic however :P
