This game is EPIC - A true Fallout

Post » Sat Oct 24, 2009 9:54 am

I bought this game the day it came out.

I am on my 4th replay and I'm still discovering new dialogue paths, quests and dynamics - amazing!

Case in point, the opening quest with the NCR Ranger with the Brotherhood of Steel - there are so many options in just that opening - all covered by dialogue - it is exceptional!

Or the way the Powder Gangers are spread throughout the game - hints are given early on and then followed through on later - excellent!

I truly hope Fallout 4 will feature such depth. Obsidian should be proud!

Yep, it's a great game. I'm on my seventh character, but getting ready to stop. Waiting for the remaining DLCs.

Can I add one thing?

Can we continue this thread without a single post comparing Vegas to F3? Wouldn't that be refreshing?

I agree, maybe one of the best I have played, althoug I dont like that a big part of the quests are pretty much the same for the different factions.

Yeah, this game gives me a warm green glow every time I play it. It's the closest thing we've had to Fallout for almost 13 years.

Agreed.

Along with Risen, with this game I've had the most fun in years.
A great game and a good Fallout game. Had the gameplay and skill/stat mechanics been pushed a bit more towards the RPG side of things, it would've easily competed with the originals.

It is very good, a true Fallout game, it gives me true freedom in my role-playing, like right now, i am role-playing as the technological genius Erik Kire, whom has an astounding understanding of the sciences and of mechanical engineering, and smashing things with a large hammer. That's right, a Melee-Science build, cry some more.

I'm doubtful as to if FO4 will be as great or better or if it's going to be more dumbed down.
Depends on how Bethesda chooses to handle it.
But I believe that Fallout: Arizona is gonna be an awesome sequel to New Vegas.

I also hope Fallout 4 will have as great of writing in every way that New Vegas has. Will Beth get better writers for FO4? I sure hope so, I know where they can find some great writers: Obsidian :fallout:

"Fallout Arizona" is the dream that Legion fans have, which is for another Fallout game to take place in Arizona and hopefully made by Obsidian.

the game is good but i wouldn't use the term epic, nothing epic or dramatic happens until the end of the game at the dam.

That is a matter of opinion, and this is an appreciation thread, stop trying to derail it.

Indeed. I am tempted to make a NV praising/constructive criticism topic too, just to see him storm in with the same attitude. I'll just shake my head and say *couldn't resist, could you?* :celebration:

Enough. Derailing ends with this line.

The game is indeed good. It's certainly not 'epic' on a Michael Bay scale(which is only good). I am kinda amazed on how Obsidian managed to pull it off in an action RPG. Quality dialogue, amount of choices, plausibility and realistic consistency etc.

It's good that you never mentioned the Burned Game, or else you'd be a heretic.
