So is this game finally fixed?

Post » Sat May 22, 2010 7:29 pm

Can we please get a ruling on this? I want to buy it for PS3, but I really don't want to deal with the frame rate issues and freezing.

lol...those frame rate drops have been fixed a bit and it runs a bit smoother now, but mostly, its not really 'fixed'. Theres still issues on weapons, GECK mistakes (like the missile launcher, Annabelle, Fatman are not affected by demolitions Expert, even though their explosives :/) and some bugs, but still, cant blame them, its a huge game, and mistakes are likely to happen

Well I'm really worried about things like game breaking bugs, crashing, those sorts of thing. I'm not expecting everything to be fixed, but the frame rate is what bugged me the most.

I voted yes, it's not 100% but it's definitely 'fixed' if you mean playable with an enormous file for hours and hours without crashing.

My main issue (which really irritates me) is that the option of wearing faction armor resets your reputation with them and this still hasn't been fixed.

Hm. I never got that one.

I heard the black armor was terribly bugged when it came to reputation. Also, crashing is still an issue.

Its just the same as F3...F3 had bugs and glitches and so does FNV. Its no different, they both run on the same engine to.

With its glitches kinda. But since all the patches most/some of the problems have been fixed and you should have a decently smooth play.

The game's seriously messed up, and I doubt if it's even possible.

I played for 9 hours straight yesterday. I was so used to quitting after an inevitable 3 hr freeze, that I just kept playing expecting it to happen. The only problem is that my DLC got deleted but I can still level to 35. That's all I really cared about was the level cap.

Two Questions:
360 or PS3?

What level were you on when you had your 9 hour playthrough?

I'm on PS3 and while it is certainly not completely fixed, IMO it is become more balanced.

I still have freezes and some annoying bugs though, some game breaking ( directional pad equipping bug) others are just annoying ( creatures / npc getting absorbed into terrain).

Patching is always an ongoing process, I doubt it will ever be truly finished.

I only tested the new patch for a couple hrs on an old character, gonna start fresh so I'll keep ya posted if I notice anything huge.

That's good to hear. I guess some people don't agree though.

PS3. I did the mantis foreleg glitch and was level 35 within the 1st 5 minutes. It wasn't a huge file.

I used to freeze after entering the Camp McCarran gate regardless of file size and that hasn't happened yet. I played a character that was 34 legit for a couple hours and only had some minor stuttering. That file is 9180 kb.

I'd have to say no, Gamebryo engine prevents me from saying yes. Are things better then when it was released, most certainly but the game still has it's issues and hopefully the next patch finally fixes those issues.

New Vegas is much, much worse.

I have to agree, Fallout 3 has it's problems but New Vegas is on a different level.

The PS3 version is not 100%. The new patch though is a vast improvement over the game pre patch. The stuttering, freezing, and load loop freezes, have been reduced to a far less frequent level. It'll never be perfect but it is definitely more playable. Also I never lost my DLC, or DLC items like some have reported.

New vegas has NEVER crashed for me, nor have i had any problems :], why? i have a PC and the godly console. And ive had at least 25 people confirm theyve had no problems on there 360 so...looks like again its on your sides. PS3 however ive only had 3 out of 32 Confirm theyve never had any problems, looks like PS3 has the most problems lol.

In 19hrs of game play it frooze 1 time and got super choppy 1 time since the patch. I ve been to some of the areas that were nightmares, and there as been a major improvement.

I ll never expect games of this magnitude to be perfect on console. IMO They push consoles to their limits. This is not to say that nv was not totally f ed up. Now after this patch it seems exceptable, so I count that as fixed.

Herp a Derpa its been put for longer, more patches, less bugs. Anyway not sure about consoles but my pc version runs smoothly without my 26 mods on, with them it still doesnt much.

Get it for the PC, it'll never work properly on the PS3 from what I've read.
