This game is going to be the biggest hit in 5 years!

I can see most people agreeing with me, for me, Bethesda are the only developers that make you feel like your in the universe of the game. i still play Oblivion now, i just love the excitement we get when we are allowed to actually Role Play a character you wish to be, almost like a book, you feel as if you are exploring it yourself. I seriously hope they keep the unique game-play features that we all loved so much.
Thank you Bethesda, you've inspired me into all i am doing today (Modding, designing , ETC) And good luck with Skyrim!

I dunno man, Saints Row 3 is lookin' like it'll log about the same amount of time as Skyrim in my case. Probably more if I count all the hours my friends and I will log online doing zany things with pepper spray and dumptrucks.

It BETTER be the bigges hit!

The hype is now so big, that if this game fails...

...I don't even dare to think about it...

As seen, many hyped games has failed lately. I'll take Black Ops as an example. Most hyped game, yet the worst, most crappy, badly designed and boring CoD game.

But we all know Bethesda. They're known to make fun stuff, and I too believe this will be an awesome game.

I'm just sayin'. Since the hype is big, the disappointment may be big.

You're saying that like no good games since Oblivion have been released. I can name plenty that have been bigger hits than most in previous years. 2007 as a whole is a prime example, but the best game of that year was undoubtedly Portal which pretty much turned the world on its head more rapidly than thought possible. As for it being the breakout success among all crowds like Portal was, I'm skeptical. RPGs still have a bad connotation amongst some of the newer "hardcoe" gaming public, and have more build up than rapid gameplay. I think that Skyrim will be surpassed this year, sales charts wise, by Mass Effect 3, a completely undeserving game.

I'm not saying there hasn't been any other good games, sure there have, but none will ever top The Elder Scrolls in my opinion.
I have a craze for medieval, fantasy and brilliant stories. And for me Bethesda deliver the best experience, it special.

eh-hhhhhhh, its not out yet so its too soon to say either way, but I doubt it. Minecraft is to me now what Morrowind was to me when it intoduced me to quality rpg genre, I don't even gripe about map size any more because the world in Minecraft is virtually infinite. btw, they both have the same release date, thats funny isn't it.

Eh, minecraft is different, i cant imagine many people playing it as much as skyrim or oblivion, also a good game has nothing to do with sales, well not completely. Everyone in the world could buy assassins creed but still wouldn't make it a better game in my opinion.

Minecraft is trying to take skyrim's thunder. It only took 2% of the thunder, half the people exited about it already bought it during alpha or beta.

what makes minecraft, the best game I have ever played, has nothing to do with sales. but the fact that it supports a completely destructive envioronment in addition to tons of crafting and capturing my need to build things like legos used to when I was a child. they key words here is; LITERALLY INFINITE GAMEPLAY. yay!!!

yeah, the release date is pretty much the day in which the final update is put up and they stop adding stuff to the game, I doubt it will steal any consumers from SK considering by then over 80 % of the people who are going to buy it already have and on 11,11,11 they'll just be getting that last update.

Split-screen multiplayer, bots, recording kills and sharing them, less douchey kill streaks. Blops was a step forward but just not far enough. Best COD but sadly still COD.

On topic:What does not living up to the the hype even mean. Is it games where the fan press make the game a bigger deal then it is like mass effect. Is it a game like fable were PM made simple one off area changes seems like they made the game better or embellished features like having a family. Since Skyrim has proper PR and the press cant over anolyze the story to make it something it never was then I say were in the green zone.

Edit: Minecraft is not taking anything away from anyone. First off,it's not even the same type of game, second its not on consoles and the closest thing to it is fortresscraft on xbox at 3$. If you want minecraft you have minecraft 11.11.11 is just a date to say its done. I expect notch to post on that day "were officially a game now and I am off to play some Skyrim".

Yeah your right, you dont hear developers raving franticly about their progress on the game, you get game lovers who hype up and exaggerate on such little info to friends and over the internet.
And they presume they know what mistakes and what awesome things they are going to make, when they just dont know. Maybe just for the fame
