If This Game Has Any Form Of Aim Assist...

Post » Sat Sep 04, 2010 4:22 am

Every console have AA, some is more noticeable some is less. And few games have an option to turn it off completely
If the AA in Brink is at Killzone 2's level it would be fine, if it's at CoD's level and it can't be turned off...Well that would be a probleme

And while using a controller can't be as fast as using a mouse, it doesn't mean it can't be precise enough to point instantly what you wanna point, you just need more practice

Actually, it means exactly that. Even at the highest sensitivity setting, a controller simply cannot out perform a mouse in term of speed and precision - it's an anolog input device. Not only is a mouse more precise, it is also easier to maintain precision at high sensitivity/speed - this is something that tends to gets overlooked.

A player would truly need to master a controller just to be able to do what an average mouse user can achieve.

I'm not bashing the controller. I understand people like for comfort reasons, or sitting on the couch or because it "feels" better, but saying you prefer a controller because it can outperform a mouse, is mathematically impossible.

Every FPS on console has aim assist due to the nature of the controllers. without it no one would hit anything

MAG was awful at least right after release on PS3. (also talk about having players quit a game, check MAG) One of the few games that ive sold back to gamestop. Took forever to get a match and once i did there were so many bugs that it was unplayable. But this is a Brink forum, so if you want to go give the MAG devs a handie go do it on their forum.

I think gamestop is actually 'selling' MAG for free AND offering five dollars store credit to those who take away the game from the store. Something about too many copies being traded in and occupying to much shelve space :whistling:

MAG at the beginning was fairly terrible, I agree.
However since the 2.0 update it's actually a very fun game, I just rented it last week and can say it was an incredible amount of fun, it even took less time to find matches(still quite a few people playing).
I might actually buy the game if I can find it at a cheap price, If they had released the game in the state it is now I would expect it to have done far more well then it did.

Capt Awesome hit the nail on the head. More important than being to aim quickly is being able to slow down when you are on a target. Console's AA have "sticky targeting" which allow you stop moving when your reticle goes over an enemy.
Brink's SMART system and emphasis on team work are what set it apart, not its aiming style.

Relax, it's called an opinion, and they tend to differ from person to person...

I'm glad to hear they fixed a lot of the issues that came with the release.

MAG is okay, the problem is the idiot blue dots, they will either make you or break you, I gave up after probably 10 hours of play, got the same frustrations from COD.

I personally hate MAG. One PMC mostly camps, one PMC think their Rambo or something, and other just feel like I'm fighting we're fighting off androids or something. People giving you the boot off the squad for no damn reason whatsoever in the beginning of the match. Glitches like enemy player going through a solid wall like a ghost. I'm just had it with this game.

The PC version will have no aim assist, but the console versions will because console aiming does svck (no not a PC elitist, I do own a console) for instance Fallout 3 on Xbox, hitting without VATS was well... very hard unless you were godlike with your aiming.

You don't have to be a PC Elitist to say console aiming svcks. I play on a PS3 and a PC but I like the PS3 better, and the controller is WAAAAAY less accurate than the mouse because with the mouse, you can make little tiny movements and adjustments, on console it's really hard to do so unless you have a low sensitivity.

I don't care much if the game has aim assist or not mostly i just turn it off... and compared to other people i actually prefer using a controller over a mouse i just svck at using a mouse over an anolog stick)

(I play games on Xbox, PS3, and PC so don't say im just siding with consoles)

i agree with several of ur points.. aim assist defeats the point of the shooter..for hardcoe players. casual players wld probly need the help. they shld make it where u cld turn it off...other wise u wldnt need as much skill as without aim assist. plus 1 shot kills jst ruin the game..unless the person is already injured or its a headshot

You can turn it off. Don't remember where I heard/read it, but I know thats official.
And its not in the PC version.
