This game isn't an RPG anymore, just a G with a story. 110

We bought the game. We wish to share too. Obsidian did fallout better than Bethesda. This is the worst fallout ever made. Period.

Witcher 3 has a better world, story, writing, characters... pretty much better everything.

Fallout 4 all I do is collect junk to make more junk for crap that doesn't matter whatsoever.

The witcher was a blast at first but got boing..

I do agree I would LOVE another fallout... I can never have enough fallout games. I'm fine with Obsidian making one but I think fallout 4 is a great game and base to start with.

RPG Elements: While I agree with the more detailed points, I wouldn't say the elements are gone, just that they are on the thin side

Weapons: While you are corrected that it does have less choices than new vegas. I will point out that there is the assault rifle that uses, 5.56 rounds, and for most purposes a firearm chambered in 5.56 will use .223 rounds without an issue and I don't recall any .223 only firearms in new vegas so it may have been a situation where they didn't include multiple ammo types for the same weapon and just stuck with the more well know variant of the round.

Armor: You state that the armor menu is a bit clunky to navigate. I would like to ask if you would mind elaborating. Is this due to the User Interface or some other underlining reason? As for breaking the armor up. May I ask what would be the perfect implementation of an armor system in your mind (since you do not like fallout 4's system, would you rather have had fallout 1/2's system, or fallout 3/NV's system)?

Food/Drink: Not going to comment as it sounds more like an attack based on their choice to change the armor/weapon systems.

Beds: Well rested in a buff for sleeping in a bed, instead of just sitting in a chair and waiting. It may be an incentive for players to actually use beds without having to add debuffs for not sleeping.

Graphics: As someone who is running a full AMD system. (AMD FX-8350 at 3.41GHz, and R8 280x) I have yet to run into any issues besides reduced FPS when scoping(mainly noticeable when I have youtube or twich in the background on another monitor)

Sound: While I do not agree with the voice acted sole survivor, I will have to say the rest of the sound design for the game is pretty high quality.

Edit: You seem upset and are directing anger and rage at all parts of the game, and at the developers. While I can see you are unsatisfied with the game as it currently stands. I do wish to find the main mental/emotional iceberg that has caused such a response.

Too bad that's all 100% subjective opinion.

I played the first Witcher and didnt enjoy anything about the game. Wouldn't bother wasting money or time on any of the others.

I want to throw my 2 cents in.

Skills have not been deleted in Fallout 4, they have been transferred/hidden in the weapon/armor modifications. Now it's up to the player to choose the best mods for his gun, taking in account for example its weight (=more damage, but more time to point it to the right direction) and many other features.

Skills would have been a real nonsense in the dinamic and more agile fps combat system developed in Fallout 4. Putting 100 points in big guns skill is telling the game "hey, make it much easier for me to use the minigun or the rocket launcher!". The game determines the player's effectiveness through a trick. In Fallout 4 the player has the possibility to move in a more agile way during combat using his/her real skill, while he/she has to plan which weapon/armor is best for his gameplay style during the battles. This part has been transferred to the weapons. The rpg elements are still there just subtly moved in another feature!

RPG elements: no, they are completely removed and to be forgotten. The only thing that's kind of still there is dialogue choices, but those are definitely on the thin side. So thin that if it were ice and you were standing on it, it would break.

Weapons: I realize .223 and 5.56 are essentially the same, and I can totally understand removing one of them, but that doesn't make up for all of the other missing calibers and the missing guns that shoot them. It's a system with few base weapons and tons of mods. It's like Gran Turismo, where they include US and JDM versions of the car when the only difference is which side the steering wheel is on, and of course it counts as a different car so it adds to the massive 1000+ car count, when really there's less than 500 uniquely different cars. It's a form of deceit. I was lied to, and I hate being lied to.

Armor: My grief with armor is that it's equipped in pieces. That's my only grief. If there was a way to group armor by type/style so the pieces aren't scattered all over my inventory, I might be able to manage it. Or an option to equip all pieces of a certain type of armor at once without having to dig through the inventory to find them. It's complicated when it doesn't have to be.

Food/drink/beds: All I want is hardcoe mode returned. I don't care to eat food or drink when a stimpak does the same thing without the radiation. I gave my food/drink to my settlers because I see no reason to eat/drink when there's no hunger/thirst and a stimpak won't cure hunger or thirst in a hardcoe mode. Yes it increases your HP but who cares when not eating/drinking doesn't lower your health. Beds are the same way. If I wander the wasteland for days on end without sleeping/eating/drinking, it should have an effect, but it doesn't. Also, it's far too easy to avoid radiation when you don't have to eat or drink. You're in an irradiated wasteland, you have to eat irradiated food to survive, but not in FO4. Which also makes rad-x almost useless too. I can't count how many times I had to take rad-x because I had to eat lots of irradiated food to cure my hunger. Just one more facet of realism/role playing out the window.

Graphics: I'm running full AMD as well, and playing at 4k. The bad textures are super obvious at 4k. Not to mention the LOD's are bugged and the close textures take forever to load, which makes it even worse. The NV gameworks godrays absolutely kill performance and even more so on AMD systems, but add so much to the graphical feel of the environment. The system requirements are absurd. Although it runs better than expected for me, some people won't be so lucky. I get slowdowns in areas populated with lots of trees/grass/lights, but I'm not about to complain about that because that's normal in any game and always has been.

Sound: I should have categorized this as voices. The sounds themselves are good. I've heard better, (um BF:BC2 war tapes setting anyone?) but they're good. The main protag's voice is what I don't like. I actually don't want any voice but I definitely don't want his, and his acting isn't great either.

Response to your edit: I could criticize lots of other stuff too, but those are the main things.

The main iceberg that caused my response is like this: Fallout 4 is like finally coming home after being deployed at war for 5 years only to find your wife is married to another man. The RPG love of my life, Fallout, is no longer an RPG, it's a story driven shooter, which I don't care much for. It's married to a different genre.

The truth is simple in this case. The game isn't for everyone, or even for every Fallout fan.

I just spent two hours wandering around the NE corner of the map, seeking out locations and seeing what I could find. I had a blast doing this. If that doesn't sound appealing to you, best not buy the game.

When all is said and done, this is a Beth game. It's not a BIS game, an Obsidian game, or a Bioware game. Don't expect it to ever be those things, unless Obsidian wants to make a 4.5 version. Otherwise, you know what you are getting; there should be no surprises here.

Very constructive, and alot of 7 year olds can't write, or not well. Bethesda can certainly learn from other developers, but they need not blindly copy them. Keep their own vision and design. Alot of people will like and some will hate it. That has become the nature of their games, and i do think they are used to it by now.

5.56 & .223 are the same ammo one is military the other civilian .223 can be safely fired by any firearm chambered for 5.56 case dimensions are identical difference is in the respective pressures 5.56 generates more PSI. They gave us several new cartridges and new cells & a host of new mods for the weapons in the game no FO4 is NOT your classic RPG and that's a good thing it sets it apart from the games that came before it. I personally am enjoying this game as I did it's its predecessors

Alot. They shipped 12 million copies at launch, so they probably sold 10 of them. At launch! I would guess its about 12 now, and probably 20 before Christmas. And then 30 at the end of next year, and it will cool down there. Still it will probably sell the double of Skyrim in its lifetime, atleast when the mod scene takes over aswell the PC version will sell like hotcakes. To answer your question i believe it sold for 750 million dollars at launch.

So you haven't figured out how to play most of the game and you're too impatient to learn? That's all you had to say.

I feel your pain OP, this is rubbish for one reason entirely. The console whale market. Maybe I will give it a play through in a years time after the modders have redeveloped it. But I will never be backing this horse again.

It is 2015 and they actually took steps backwards in development. I mean once modders fix your previous games, wouldn't you incorporate those fixes into your next game? hahaha. NOPE.

I feel like FO4 does not want me to be the loner [censored] I want to be. Every option makes it sound like I care about these NPCs. I don't want to help you build a settlement. Hell, I claimed Sanctuary 200 years ago and you think you can come in here, take it over, and set up shop??

When I first reunited with Codsworth, I wanted to say something like, "Out of all the things that survived, you have to be one of them." My back story was that I hated that robot. He did nothing but burn my toast, wrinkle my clothes, and clog up my toilet! But no, I had to be happy to see him.

Again, I want to be a loner. Shut myself up in a room with a bed, a couple of mines outside my door in case someone comes poking their nose in, pick up in the morning and keep going on my way. I don't trust anyone. Therefore, I don't want to give Piper my life story. I don't want to join the Brotherhood. When I got to Diamond City my answer to everyone asking me why I came was that was none of their business. I told no one who I was looking for. Then, out of nowhere, an NPC says, "I hope you find your son." Um, WHAT? I wanted to kill him for knowing too much, but sigh, I couldn't.

Stealth is certainly not as good as I was hoping for, but most people I've seen play just barge in and rambo anyway. I want to take the second stealth perk, which makes me less likely to get detected, but I also want to have to pay attention and set off floor traps if I miss them. For this reason, I haven't taken the perk.

Just a few of the gripes I have with the game. I just feel like anything that could be considered adding any kind of challenge to the game has been taken out because, hey, running around and shooting stuff is fun, too?

Gotta dumb down the games so the less-than-intelligent youth can actually play them, gotta increase sales and please them shareholders and fill the bank accounts, you know ;) It's really another game corrupted by money. Bethesda wants the franchise for money, and Obsidian wants the franchise to make the franchise better, it seems. Money always wins.

After playing FO4, I'm more than happy with 3/NV even in vanilla form. I never modded 3/NV because I liked the games how they were, besides the less-than-stellar graphics and bugs.
