This game lacks seriously ambition

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 1:50 pm

As someone who's played and beat every Fallout game (excluding FO:BOS and FO: Tactics) I have to say that Fallout 4 is easily my favorite in the entire franchise. I enjoyed it more, in every aspect, than Fallout 1 or 2 and those two were tied for my favorite prior to Fallout 4 coming out.

Now what does this mean for you? Nothing. But I'm sure I'm not the only one around here that doesn't appreciate you speaking for the entirety of the community. The game is plenty dark depending on where you are and where you look and who you talk to, but it's also very hopeful and uplifting also depending on those things. I feel like that sort of mix is , and how well it's mixed, is what makes something good. Not how dark and gritty it is.

I was really hoping survival would be similar to New Vegas.

Gratuitous gore, sixual innuendo and references to slavery and prostitution aren't good enough! We need in depth systems in place that let us live out our most depraved fantasies!

Nah, this is a good game.

To be honest, I find posts that start 'we wanted X' slightly irritating.... much of the time I couldn't care less for people's personal vision of what the game should / should not have included and I'm reasonably happy with how the game shipped. The things I'd like will inevitably come from the modding community once the CK is out.

you wrong in fallout 1 and 2 (MSDOS game) it was a lot more weapons and monsters than in fallout 4.

I i said in other post this game was made for become an easy fast action console game but it lose is "fallout soul" on the way for please the console player market. Same with what happen with X rebirth

Spoken like a true armchair developer. Sure you can cram an ass load stuff into a 2d game at little to no cost or conflict but 3D game development is an entirely different animal.

I amended the opening post, because clearly the poster meant things he felt were missing, not that the rest of necessarily felt things he listed were missing.

Thanks to most of you for keeping things civil. OP is allowed his opinion - I disagree with his wish list.

Now, back to the game for me. Having too much fun to spend time complaining on any forum. :D

There are feral ghouls eating on dead people in the game, and there is a vault that used children for experiments.

Compare fo4 to unreal tournament. Saying that a pipe pistol is pretty much the same as 10mm pistol is a fair statement but saying that flak cannon is the same as bio rifle is not.

Fine, let's go back almost two decades of graphics tech and model semi static creature sets. As long as thy'll make you happy. I do expect you NOT to complain about the graphics and animation if we go back to those days of development though.

Guys. It costs more to do everything now because everything has so much more depth. The amount of time I design, animate, and script a deathclaw in FO1 is a mere fraction what it takes in a game like FO4.

Hell, I played text based CRPGS that had hundreds of enemy types... Because the enemies were only labels

Fallout tactics did have working cars, and the Fonline engine allow it as well, but in game inclusion of vehiciles is spotty at best, especially with AI drivers.

The weapons in fallout 4 are much more restricted, though the mods make you forget all about that for the most part, aside from the horrible failure of automatics vs semiautomatics of the same item.

The bladerunner pistol, different machete's, red glare, shoulder mounted mini-guns

If I'd want anything it would be more modifications like making the 10mm a revolver, or the minigun shoulder mounted.

Sure because the cost of the game production back in time are same as now,

And if you go that way it was a lot more weapons in fallout 3 and NV, and a part of the 3d model can be use for port it on fallout 4.

So please give me other excuse for the lack of weapons and armor in fallout 4

Ah....that explains why I never made it past that town with the Roman centurions in it.

The game....modded or not...was a yawnfest. The Hard core mode was so overrated. Why anyone needs the game to tell you to sleep, eat, and drink baffles me.

It's already available in the open world Bethesda games. I don't need it coded in to make it work.

.. because it's a challenge? The setting is a post-apocalyptic world and you need to survive somehow. It shouldn't be like Call of Duty where all you have to do is shoot things. Having to actually scavenge for food and water adds to the feel of the game.

It's the same concept as having to actually find ammunition. Would you rather every gun be given to you from the start, each of them having infinite ammo?

The Queen wasn't unique as far as I'm aware since i have encountered others in different areas.

You also have Soft-shell Mirelurks, MIrelurks, Mirelurk Hunters and Kings.

But you can do that already. In every Bethesda game. The idea that it can't be done by the player alone is silly.

New Vegas wasn't anymore difficult than FO3 or FO4. It's simply that many can't create their own limitations and need Obsidian to do it for them. Which led to a false idea that NV was a better RPG.

Fallout 2 actually has around the same number of creatures. Fallout 4 probably has more robots and machines, but not by a large amount.

Fallout: New Vegas has almost as many creatures and robots as Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 combined.
