This game looks like its from 1995

First off, the graphics in this game rock. Secondly, I am tired of this arrogant attitude that graphics are not important. You don't have to have EITHER OR. Good graphics and good gameplay are more important than nothing but gameplay.

yea maybe bethesda should make a game set in a hallway where everything is renderd to perfection. the game ends if you reach the end of the hallway which takes 1-2 mins depending on your skill to use keyboard and mouse

i bet thats your GOTY

THe games graphics look great to me and most important they run on my current computer. They run smooth and I've only had two CTDs after 30 hours of play

This is before any major patching too

Overall I think it looks great. With a tweaked .ini and with a few mods, I think my game looks gorgeous.

Also in my opinion, the game is not supposed to be focused on the graphics of tiny little details, that will just disappoint you "visually". Instead, focus on the image as a whole and I think you'll find it beautiful. Also, this game has so much more than graphics that amazes you. To just focus on graphics is to miss 90% of what the game truly offers.

Supposedly, the console game equals to low/med on computer, which is average. Now, i'm on ULTRA MAX! <-- condem commercial hehe. But yeah, I was about to write before I said t myself, lemme just read this through, is in the lore of elder scrolls that's how Skyrim is, The only real problems graphical wise is the water,,,I hate the water, For example I throw a body into the river that has a water fall to a rocky doom, but instead of the river flowing like how a river is supposed to flow, the body gets a sharp current (apparently) and crashes into the shore... But, as for crashes, I've only had like 2-3, at VERY VERY VERY random times.

Well I have it on PC and 360, I'd say the 360 setup correctly is about med-high.

Those are some awesome screenshots

I think the main ones griping are ones on console, since they are limited to a lower resolution compared to us PC gamers.

Please don't lump all of us console players into one assumption. I'm on PS3 and am not complaining, not once. Though the graphics can't touch Uncharted or some of the other games out there, I'm glad for this fact. It means Bethesda focused some of their energies into different arenas instead of purely stunning graphics.

I'm noticing draw distance for instance is much larger than it was in Oblivion. In Oblivion, often i wouldn't be able to see an enemy until it was maybe 50 feet away (that's a guesstimate). In Skyrim, enemies can be seen from a much larger distance. There is also less moments of pop-up. Slow down is rare, and I'm not seeing any tearing in my game.

Basically: I would say Skyrim's graphics are dated. they are only slightly better than Oblivion. But I don't care! I'd rather have better draw distance and less pop-up over state of the art stunning graphics. If Bethesda had only focused on graphics for TES: V, other things in the game would have suffered.

I don't get the point of people posting in forums without reading any of the posts, much less the first post. Aren't we all here to discuss these topics, rather than just stick our comments in?

I cant believe anyone doesnt love the graphics of this game. I have a pc and the graphics are set on pretty high quality and it looks sooo awesome

:D

Lol you're kidding right?

It's pretty in the sense of an open area with a nice skybox, but the textures and water are meh.

To be fair, some of the textures are horrendous and do look little better than something from Neverwinter Nights, even on Ultra. Overall though, the world looks gorgeous. I think the complaints are coming from people that are looking only at the relevant textures (snow covered stone, mainly) and complaining about everything being as bad as that, which certainly is not the case.

You have to admit fellow forumers, the textures on the ground, the pixelated shadow and snow, and the texture of the ground in some placs is shockingly bad and takes you out of the game. If there weren't valid complaints then you guys wouldn't have to be here to beat down and oppress all who voice them

If you honestly believe that graphics are not important to your enjoyment of the game, I suggest you stop playing video games and try to find a D&D group in your area.

That's a very ignorant statement.

I value a fun game, far more then I do a pretty game.
