Skyrim is a wonderful game that rewards exploration and attention to detail. That's a play-style that seems lost lately, and it can be tough to get back in that frame of mind... especially since decapitating a mage is so much fun.

I absolutely understand most of the complaints leveled at the game. It isn't perfect by a long shot. But it's my favorite of the TES series so far, and I think it's a great way to kill a few hundred hours.

Perfect for ten year olds maybe.

Remember that games are like music.

It's taste, opinions and etc.

Can't... take... much... more...arrogant... fanboyism...
It's very good but by no means perfect. One of the better games out there- certainly but admit it has its flaws and there were parts of the older games that were great and Skyrim (in some ways at least) isn't as good as them.

Possibly the best game I've ever played.

Skyrim is easily GOTY.

It's called the real world, most of us do live in it. ;)

Totally agree OP. This game is as close to perfection as it gets!

I certainly don't mind positive based threads. But to say that any game is 100% perfect makes anything you say questionable. Blind faith disgusts me.

The game has issues yes, some that were overlooked for a deadline sadly.

I love the game and the modding community will make the PC experience much more rich and add new content.

Unfortunate for you console players (not a haha you svck comment).

I love the game with issues and without. I am thankful and I do love this game.

Thank you! I agree 100%. I am about 60 hours into my first character. He's level 35 (almost 36) and I am STILL totally entranced. At first I was bummed with a few things missing, but what they added made me forget all about them. It is an amazing game and while it still has a few kinks to work out, I think it is the single most amazing RP game i have even played.

The writing is awful and I mean AWFUL.
Combat is still pretty weak.
Stupid level-scaling system.
Balance issues and exploits galore.
No spell creation + few spells.
Often unstable and buggy
Same, repeated dialogue

Great soundtrack
Beautiful world
Shouts + Perks

It's fun but it's not GOTY and it certainly isn't perfect. 7/10

Skyrim isnt perfect... its an incomplete product, and, its more perfect for casual users,, but not for the TES Fans ,,,,,
just statarting,, in that world, where you use an sword and ride a horse,, you have a GPS!. And yea,, its "optional", optional had been a little more perfect if the quest give more detailed information, or if you could talk to any npc, looking for that information, ...

Skyrim is an easy game,, if you have 14 - 20 years, and you are not very brillant,, well thats games its perfect for you,, else,, this game needs fixes..
Perfect maybe in ... one o two year.

Sorry for my english

I'm the same....enjoying the game tremendously.

I purposely don't read spoiler nor negative threads. There's just no benefit to me.

Spoilers usually ruin the surprise for me and negative threads are usually just someone focusing on something that isn't perfect in an effort to convince us that they are right. Why should I care what they think? I don't.

It's sad but many people in this world are just negative nancys.

Last time I checked. Game of the Year is given to a game that works.

You may be right, there are people looking for retailers and as close as possible to perfection, and are conformists .. the two extremes, in my opinion are bad ..
but to say that this game is perfect, puts you at the end of conformists,, just my opinion

Get to level 25. Then we talk.
play it non-stop for 100 hrs straight- then we'll talk

Done and done. Level 65 at 170 hours, within the first two weeks of release. Still the best TES game.

i was about to make a post with the same intent as this one, but i'll just post here instead. i just wanted to drop a positive note in for bethesda as this has got to be a trying time for them, with all of the pressure to address the bugs, glitches and general complaints of players who have run into trouble. i'm not going to offer my opinion on the whole situation, or make excuses for them, but instead want to offer my thanks for the game. i'm not blind to its faults, and my experience isn't everyone's, but i have absolutely fallen in love with skyrim. i love being able to reread my favorite books from morrowind and laugh at the genius of those stories. i love that the natural beauty is so captivating that i sometimes just wander around through the forests and forget questing for a while. i love that you can mod the crap out of skyrim, as modding is one aspect of gaming that i'm addicted to (running 73 separate mods at the moment o_o), and (with the help of 4GBskyrim) the game runs perfectly smoothly and glitch free for me on maxed settings and sliders. mods truly take this visually impressive game to a whole new level!

it's breathtakingly beautiful, gargantuan in scale and feels nostalgic but fresh. morrowind has always been my favorite game, but skyrim is well on its way to surpassing it. it's unfair to compare the two directly, as they're from different generations and had/have different limitations, but i have absolutely no doubt that skyrim will soon reign supreme.

if the problems that so many people are experiencing with the game are corrected, i have no doubt that this will go down in history as a landmark in gaming scope and imagination. work hard bethesda, fix what needs fixing and continue to unfold incredible worlds paired with engrossing exploration. thank you for skyrim! i hope the current storm blows over and everyone can eventually appreciate this masterpiece as some of us already do.
all the best...
