This game is perfect.

It's good, definately a lot of fun, but no where near perfect, and if you say that and don't complain about stuff, bethesda won't be able to make the TES / Fallout Brilliant.

I am too old, and have played far too many games, to care any more about how hardcoe anything is, or whether it is true to the roots of a series, or whether it appeals in any amount to a casual audience. Given that, I am enjoying this game immensely. Nothing is perfect, shouldn't even need to be said, but imho, pretty damn good. Maybe I am just stupid/casual/senile enough these days to want some fun and enjoyment in my action/rpgs.

It's a brilliant RPG but it doesn't have water-walking.

It's not perfect but it's definitely one of my favourites, and the best Elder Scrolls in my opinion. Also, it's nice to see some optimism around here instead of the monotonous whining I've become accustomed to recently.

I feel exactly the same. It's so good to see that people can actually be happy with this game like I am! Flawed or not, I love it! :foodndrink:

It's not perfect, but it's the best single-player game for PS3 to date.

Full agreement with the OP. I absolutely love this game. 110 hours total played over 2 characters and I'm still looking forward to getting time for my next game-session.

I certainly don't mind positive based threads. But to say that any game is 100% perfect makes anything you say questionable. Blind faith disgusts me.

Would you care to explain to me how the OP has demonstrated his/her faith in anything, be it blind or otherwise? They have the game and have played it. It is a tangible, finite commodity. They don't need to have faith in it - they can touch it, see it and interact with it in a meaningful way. You only need faith in things you can't see, hear, feel etc.

Next time, try being disgusted by things you know the meaning of.

It's good. It's really good, but has too many bugs to be called "perfect". Having said that, I think it just shades out GTA:San Andreas (probably one of the single greatest games ever) for the amount of fun I've had in the world.

Its definitely GOTY in my opinion and, in terms of sheer enjoyability, the best game I've played in the last 10 years!

Just wanted to make sure that even though they encourage changing the game by players, there are those of us out there that love the game for what it is and hope they never forget about us in future games.

Dear Talasma,

Not to rain on your parade my friend, but that up there is an oxymoron.

TES games are highly regarded precisely because they're unmatched in terms of enabling players to tailor the game towards something they would consider more enjoyable. They're usually a blank canvas - being a sandbox experience - where players come to paint their own impressions. And those impressions go full circle and have an impact on future default versions of another TES title. Skyrim, which you love so much (rightfully so), implemented features that came out straight of Oblivion mods made by players, something explicitly recognised by Skyrim developers in interviews and such.

Other than that, I respect your positive and almost angelical-like testimony of how much of a good time you're having. I know that I'm a stranger that you couldn't care less what he thinks about a game, but don't underestimate the power of getting in touch with players - like yourself - from all around the world to share impressions, ideas and feelings.

Forums will be Forums: even tough anonimity gives a free-pass for rude behavior and spontaneous violence, stay true to yourself and put up a flare. I guarantee you that like-minded individuals will always respond. Your own thread being a case in point.

Cheers.

You're right, of course, about the ability to mod and tweak the game to your liking being a huge part of the series, and probably the only reason some people buy and play the games.

The part of your post quoted above, however, makes it sound like this is the only reason the games are highly regarded, which is simply untrue. You would have a hard job to explain the massive console sales if that were the case.

I also want to thank Bethesda. I am having a very, very hard time in my life at the moment and Skyrim always manages to clear my head a little bit while i am playing. Hope you understand what i mean, english is not my native language.

One word that comes to my mind when i think about Skyrim is majestic. And there is so much content in this game, sometimes i am really speachless about all the things i discover.

I wasn't a big fan of the other Elder Scrolls games, but looking back at the history of RPGs, from Bard's Tale to Ultima to Gothic... this is truly one of the best RPGs i ever played in my whole life!

Then I expressed myself inadequately, because I agree with you in the sense that it's not the only reason. However, I phrased it that way because I do think it is the most unique feature of TES. But you make a good point when you mention consoles, those players were attracted by other reasons than modding, which shows value that transcends what I mentioned.

Dorian... nuff said?

While it is a great game, and I very much doubt I'm going to stop playing anytime soon, I've encountered too many bugs for it to be deemed perfect.

Well i wouldnt say perfect, they still have alot of work to do to correct some weird glitches and physics. I doubt fifty percents will be cleared up, more likely they will move on to another projects.

Just registered today to the forums, because i was too busy playing the game lol.

Like the OP i do like the game very very much. I never played an TES game before and i just bought it kinda out of the blue. I thought: Its an RPG in a mystical medieval setting in an open world, lets try it!
Man it is one of the best blind purchages I've ever done!

I don't get some of the negative reactions on this forum. Yeah it has got some bugs, but what newly released game doesnt... Im sure they will fix the major ones soon. I guess some people are a bit spoilt (no offense).

I love the story, i love the gameplay and the huge ammount of content.

After im finished the game with my nord greatsword character i will do it all over again with an mage char, but im trying to delay finishing the game as much as possible.

Anyways for the haters, hate as much as you want, in the meanwhile ill be enjoying this game (and the future DLC's) for a long time to come! :mohawk:

Almost prefect, just fix the few bugs then its perfect.

Yeah I love TESV more them the last game. There are some issues that need patching and I am annoyed with a couple things they did like the over simplified UI and a few others. But I am at 151 hours and haven't even finished the main quest or the factions and loving it. IMO those who gripe and whine about it being too short blasted right through it. No exploring, no side or misc quests. People the game is supposed to be an adventure, not a platform game to speed run through levels. Also there are more complex quests then some may think. They are just too lazy to figure out the options, so they run and gun through it. My worst problem is I love the random stuff, but BGS took it too far and have overlapping quests in the same dungeons at points and that is where they glitch out and you can't finish. Example: I did a misc quest to clear a place and then later the companions first quest was that exact dungeon. So the quest would never finish if I tried. Now that quest disappeared and I can skip it altogether....LOL
