Do note that the cool kids hate on Obsidian because remember KOTOR2? Har, har har. *sigh*
At launch New Vegas certainly had it's bugs but frankly it was nothing shocking. Heck, Fallout 3 was way worse at launch. After all the patches the majority of bugs have been fixed. There are still some glitches left, but nothing game breaking.
The game can stop working every now and then and crash - especially if you put extra strain on the engine when using mods, but that's Bethesda's gamebryo for ya.

Yes.

Erm, wha?
No, the game won't crash specifically at level 50. Just like it won't crash specifically when you kill a powder ganger, enter a house, or do the hustle. What I'm saying is that crashes can happen. Just like they could happen in Fallout 3 for that matter. You might get lucky and never experience a single crash or you can crash once every hour. Bethesda's Gamebryo simply isn't the world's most stable engine.

As for New Vegas being like Fallout 3.
If you go in New Vegas expecting the exact same as Fallout 3, you can be disapointed. Between the two the gameplay is pretty much the same, but they are very different games when it comes to their respective settingdesigns, queststructures, and overall writing.

Yeah crashes can be completely random but they aren't "that" common really.
Just remember to save on new permanent save slots a lot so that in case it does crash then you won't lose much progress.
But it really doesn't happen very often.

Yes it's broken.

Everyone on this forum is basically just part of a very elaborate charade where we pretend we can play the game and that it's lots of fun so that unsuspecting readers go out and buy a broken piece of crap.

Probably the most annoying bug I experience is a save hanging at load. It's annoying because the game won't let me ctrl+alt+del out and I have to power down. But it happens very rarely for no discernible reason. There are CTDs, but these are rare too. Apart from that there are a few small issues like enemies clipping through the terrain occasionally and other minor glitches. For such a masive game it's really very stable now - certainly no worse than Fallout 3. Most of the issues it was plagued by at release are fixed.
