Nice user name. For some reason it fits well with the title.

As for your issue, I agree. We need to blame the developer more for our own mistakes because surely it wasn't the player's own fault for forgetting to save often, especially in a Bethesda game where saving frequently is encouraged.

Three auto saves suggests you're on PC, meaning a lot of problems can be addressed via workarounds and/or console commands.

However you've given no details whatsoever as to what or where the exact problem is

In future it might be an idea to be more informative and less abusive.

Welcome to the Forum.

If you are on a PC you might be able to solve your issue with console commands.

I can understand that you are angry but sometimes it is best to be calm if you are looking for assistance.

You sound like someone that's used to playing with save points rather than save anywhere. Tsk.

I can almost guess who you are looking for and if I am right I have the required console codes right here on my desk.

I've had a singular lack of success in trying to find that particular spelling, indeed. ;)

So you only have 1 save game, what is the problem? We are here to help and we will guide you in what ever you need, just ask on here that's what makes this forum great because the people on this forum are here to help, if they weren't then there would be no forum. Also I would not blame the developers it is not their fault. Every TES game has bugs, that's why the modding community for pc is trying to fix some of those bugs. Blaming Bethesda will not get you far on this forum.

Hello new user. It appears that you are frustrated with the game, and the situation it has put you in. This board is very friendly, and there are many of us on here who would very much like to assist and help you get back to the point in the game where you can resume playing. Would you be able to post the following:

- Mode of play: (which console, PC-windows version?)

- Revision number of game. This is the patch version. 1.9.x for example. Seen in the lower left of the intro box when selecting play, and other locations.

- If PC, do you have any MODs installed?

- DLCs?

- *without spoilers* position in the game where you have experienced a potential bug

- Any prior saves that you could start back from that does not provide the experience you have encountered?

If you have that, some of the tech people here can really help out. They have been great to me, and I am sure they will extend the same courtesies to you.

Finally, a tradition on the board is to extend a "fishy stick" to all new comers. Please accept my apologies that I do not have one; but, rest assured, someone will be by shortly to offer one. It is a tradition on this board, and I do hope you accept my apologies that I can not carry on the tradition at this moment.

Again, pleae let us know how we can help. We want everyone to enjoy the game, and not be frustrated.

Scrouw this game: Welcome to the forums and here is a fishy stick http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg

we might be able to help out but we need to know more information. The info that Powerup stated is the information we need.

Since you stated you only have the auto saves there might not be that many options unless you are on the PC

Sound like daily complain by other forum members.

Always find something not perfect. According to them the game should REALLY work like in real life (but still can be played in their grandma computer), including its kitten.

No details. No previous save.

People. Keep more than one save. Before dungeons, before new cells, heck I do it before loading screens. It's especially important to do it the loading screen before you get a quest.

An excellent example with the Companions. You know Eorlund gives you Aela's shield. You go down ti the quarters. Save before you do. Go in. Farkas gets called ice brain. Then he gives you a quest. My first was Shimmermist Cave at level 8. All yiu have to do is reload that save before yiu entered the quarters.

Like others have said, you can't really save too often with this game. I learned the hard way when I first played the game and was already 200+ hours into it.

I never do this and I know that I'm risking losing quite a bit of playing time. I just have the 3 auto saves every 15 minutes but a lot of the time I don't activate the menu while outside just adventuring. I once lost 2 hours and a lot of loot for not changing cells or activating the menu to auto save. Did I get angry with Bethesda when I lost 2 hours? No. Why? because it was me who forgot to save. I very rarely and I mean VERY rarely have problems with the game, so I can trust the 3 auto saves.

As stated already, save often. Which means making permanent saves. Relying on autosaves alone is a sure way to make the game glitch out.

OP, blaming the devs for your own mistakes is not cool. :nono:

Yes, the games made by BGS are buggy. Often very very buggy. That's something one has to simply accept and adapt to. Save often and different slots. When encountering a bug one can then revert to previous save and try again.

After reading the title I promised myself I would write a serious response, but I don't think I can help myself from scrouwing around.

Anywho, I heard ragequitting works.

Welcome to the forums and good luck buddy, you're off to a great start.

Tbh, it's completely fair to blame Bethesda for bugs in their games... Not in such an angry, unproductive fashion though. And Skyrim doesn't rely on savepoints, so saving manually is essential, this can't be stressed enough.

Refer to Powerup's guide a few posts above, describe the bug and we'll try to help you.

The person must be somewhere around; just look for her/him instead of waiting that everything is done for you.
