With my Oblivion more or less out of commission until a particularly tenacious bug with the All Natural mod can get fixed, I turned instead to Morrowind to scratch my TES urge. I'd never played it before, but had heard it described as arguably the best game in the series, atmosphere-wise. So I shrugged, gave Valve $20, and picked up the GOTY edition from Steam. Played it for a while, got suitably immersed in the storyline, but kept getting annoyed by the graphical quality relative to my Oblivion setup (QTP3R, various other visual beautifiers). So I started modding. Began with the Visual Pack 3 and MGE, which was nice, but not quite nice enough.
Ended up modding in texture packs for just about every object in the game, plus some to further beautify it and make it more vibrant (Open-Air Vivec Cantons, some of the mods that add trees and shrubberies to the Bitter Coast/Ascadian Isles/what-have-you). Took me several hours and a couple minor heart attacks ("What do you mean MGE won't work any more?")...but wow. What a world of difference. Breathtakingly gorgeous, and I'm maintaining a nice steady 30 FPS despite.
So the purpose of this thread is twofold. One, it's to give a heartfelt and humble thanks to the fantastic and talented community who continue to make this otherwise fantastic game visually stunning as well, years and years after its release.
The second purpose, though, is this. While my game now looks gorgeous, there are still some ways I wish I could tweak how it played, and I've found comparatively little information on gameplay-tweaking mod collections versus visual collections. So with that in mind, could anyone point me towards a decent collection of gameplay tweaks for a player who enjoys feeling truly immersed in a game? Tweaks to alchemy, enchanting, and stealth would be especially welcome.
Thanks in advance, and once again, cheers for the time and effort this community continues to put into this game!
