I first saw gameplay and the E3 teaser trailer for Brink today plus I've heard of it for a while now.. I was wondering if I should actually get it within the next couple days or just keep the money for something else?

Wait for a few patches, I wouldn't get it right now.

Either rent it now to get an idea of gameplay... or wait a little over a week until after consoles receive the update.

I certainly wouldnt committ to a purchase without trial as people seem to really hate or really enjoy this game.

I suggest don't ask others personal opinion and preferences. You all like the same food?
Rent it or play it if a friend has it,or just search for more info here,in YouTube but better do your own research without asking.

I've been having some fun with this title, but its not really worth the 60$ price tag atm.
I would hold off (you're not missing much) until:
1. they fix the lag in mp matches, this is a serious issue that makes the game unplayable in its MAIN mode at least 50% of the time.
2. if you do manage to get online the next thing you will notice is a lack of any real content. 8 maps, shared in the campaign for both resistance and security are also the same maps used in the mp portion, objectives and all.

So if you haven't already bought it, i would wait for a price drop which is bound to happen sooner rather than later. Also with fixes planned for "sometime" in June, along with the promise of the 1st dlc being free, waiting is prolly the best idea atm.

Buy it now and level up. If you have a 360 look at the bar for your human playmates...if more than one ain't green eject out of the game. The game is having a problem balancing people with terrible connections. I am frankly irked by this bug as every console game play online games the same way...with this gen of games this shouldn't keep being a problem every single time an online game comes out. With the exception of the halo games this is always a problem. COD, GOW just crazy...even with open betas you still get the lag

Wait maybe 10 days. This game, like all new releases nowadays, is very buggy.

However, because BRINK is trying something so radically different, most people think the bugs are intentional, so that ruins the review.

MUST GET IF:
- You enjoy working together.
- You enjoy Attack/Defend gameplay.
- You are a very supportive player.
- You have played/watched Assassin's Creed or Mirror's Edge and want to combine FPS with that sort of movement.
- You can play the same maps over and over and find the fun in each expereience.

DO NOT GET IF:
- You are a lone wolf player.
- You play only to level up.
- You play only to kill.
- You play only to brag.
- You are expecting a deep campaign.
- You are expecting a deep singleplayer.

PC version has worked very well for me (only the sound bug on some maps, which will get fixed soon. I even have AMD gpu, works fine). I feel a bit sorry for console users who are forced to play with bots due to lag in multiplayer (if you are planning to play only single-player, just pass this game).
Gameplay wise, I would like to see few maps balanced a bit so they can be won by offence on public servers. Everything else has been great, just as I expected
I definitely recommend PC version if you like the concept of the game. Few friends playing with you wont hurt either ;)

wait for this console update, see if lag and horrendous textures are addressed. I didnt hear any mention of texture rendering/streaming fix (it literally takes 2 seconds to load up a wall, often, u look away from it for a second and look back and it has to render all over again). So far I havent heard of any mention of the textures being fixed but im praying they are in this update so I dont have to snap this game in half (worth less than 20 turn in already because so many people cant wait for patch). The lag also makes pretty much any mode but competition and campaign unplayable. And even then there is lag. Its gotten significantly better since launch, still horrible. only mode I ever play is competetion Ive never been in a lag free "big teams" aka 8 on 8. patch should fix lag. If textures arnt addressed it will still be a big bummer but atleast ill be able to play the game.

edit: im on 360, heard its significantly better right now on ps3.

Well considering most people are saying to just wait a week or something for updates, I might as well get it as soon as I can (might even be a week away) because there's not much I'll do with $60 in a week or a month anyway... Except http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.littledebbie.com/images/pressroom/cosmic-2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.littledebbie.com/pressroom/cosmic.asp&h=200&w=350&sz=29&tbnid=xOf4vZK2hwgo5M:&tbnh=69&tbnw=120&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dcosmic%2Bbrownie%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=cosmic+brownie&hl=en&usg=__Ug2rEFSEEfemlwAyn_6cGzsP1JI=&sa=X&ei=w_fWTdufHMHt0gHKtricBw&ved=0CCQQ9QEwAw....
