This game used to run alot better

Hey guys, I remember Fallout used to run really well. Unfortunately lately it seems to be running alot worse for seemingly no reason. When I'm standing outside the Nuka Cola Plant looking at the surrounding buildings opposite the street, I fall to like 30fps. I'm tempted to overclock my PC which I've done before, from 3.2 - 3.6GHz but my CPU reaches like 60-65C which I'm worried about. Is there anything I can do to make it better? I'm not happy with lowering the settings, but is there anything I can download or whatever? Thanks in advance.

Have you been installing a lot of mods? If so, you could try deactivating them one at a time to see of one is having a big impact on performance. Check out how many processes you have running in the background as well.

http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html The tweaking guide linked on the second page is also amazing for optimizing your system in general. It can take a while to go through, but there is some very good advice.

I have FOOK2 and MMM installed. I've checked the site and tried numerous things, .ini tweaks and the like. I just reinstalled New Vegas after some-time and the game runs amazingly. No stutter whatsoever. Surely there's something I can do?
