My friend played the beta and thought it was horrible. The fact that these foolish devs are using a modified version of the Hero engine is pathetic. It won't be truly skill based, they don't even have real aiming like they have already made certain, if there are large numbers of enemies on screen, auto aiming will be included.

I would rather play the Skyrim online mod in development than this smoldering piece of trash, the fact that they are letting this horrible studio make this game is sad.

Skyrims game engine can be tweaked to look a lot nicer, just look at mods. The gameplay would have been amazing if they used Skyrims game engine, gameplay mechanics could change on it so it is more skill based.

Would have been so much easier if they used Skyrims engine but made it look better. I will enjoy seeing a DIFFERENT MMO that looks like it will be WoW 2.0, WildStar Online totally destroy this piece of trash. This developer does not deserve to make Elder Scrolls Games.

It is still a modified version of this garbage game engine. GOOD JOB! Choosing a game engine that TOR had, I do like The Old Republic though even if it is a WoW clone, at least it has a story so you don't feel like you are wasting your life playing it.

I don't know much about game development, but Skyrim's engine is very heavy on consoles, and even on PC when you try to have more than 20 people on your screen. Now imagine those 20 people are 150 because it's an MMO. Now imagine 30 of those 150 are casting fire spells. I think each developer should work on the engine they know the best. That's why Bethesda Studios still kept that ancient Gamebryo code although they could have licensed a killer engine since they're so rich. I still hope they'll build a new engine for TES VI, but from ZOS I honestly didn't expect to copy Skyrim's visuals and assets, they need to make it work on very various machines.

You do what you want and enjoy it. There are plenty who will play and who will enjoy it. I'm sure lots of people play games I would not enjoy. As long everyone is doing something they like then it's all good.

Same article ... just actually read it. Many developers do this sort of thing and always will in order to start development prior to completing their custom engine. Or am I missing the point of this rant?
