Every generation of video game makers has tried something like this. All of them have failed. All, as in, every single one. Doesn't work.

Saw Sony, was instantly disappointed.

They haven't done anything good or revolutionary for gaming since... um, well, ever.

wow, i must admit im really surprised at all the negative feedback. personally i think that this head mounted display holds immense promise.
if we disregard sony's pricing strategy for a second and focus on the actual capabilities of the hardware instead, you will see that so far almost all the
feedback, professional and private, strongly indicates that this REALLY works. They say its somewhat similar to sitting somewhere in the middle in a larger cinema.
and its OLED, that means we are talking black levels on par or even surpassing pioneer KURO plasma, the current benchmark to beat, when it comes to raw picture quality.
one of the toughest judges in an area like this, the AVS forum is generally extremely positive about the potential of this product.
if you have the money, you should really check up on it some more, and AT LEAST try one set out at a store.
like i said....its O L E D :)

Exactly, this is new technology. Not a single person in this thread has tried it, quit with the ignorant comments. Those that get headaches are probably the same people that get a headache from watching tv or being at the computer for long periods of time. I am not one of those people.

Like the quote above me, the reactions have been that it feels like you're sitting in the middle row of a move theater. For gods sakes, yes I want one. I'm going to try it first and if it's like being in a theater I will certainly buy one. $800? Whatever. I'd pay $5,000 for a theater experience in my own house.

Looks cool, problem is those things REALLY hurt your eyes after about 15minutes. At first your like "OMG THIS RULES" then your like "Meh, use to it now" then you like "OMG, Why am I doing this! I have a migraine, someone kill me!" And you finally take then off and say "Omg.. someone, light those evil things on fire, and throw them into traffic!"

Kind of overpriced for something that falls off your face.
Unless turning your head turns the camera this would be pretty useless for gaming at the moment. I assume somebody will someday perfect some sort of VR system for gaming. They were working on it hard in the 90's.. until they can get the price into the 199 area for the mass market nothing is going to happen though.

Meh.
"720p" Guess I'm a snob, but 1600p is where it's at.

Good thing you have to hold it up the entire time, according to the video on that page. Why would you ever want this..

I still wonder how well it would work for me, what with wearing glasses and having vastly different prescriptions on my left and right eyes (20:70 left eye, 20:270 right).

Be willing to bet that you can't wear it well over glasses, and without them I wouldn't have the same focus on the two screens.

If someone were to gift that device unto me, I would gladly use it.

Sadly, I've spent all my moneys upgrading my computer to be able to run Skyrim.

this thread barely validates as a skyrim thread let alone a TES thread. In fact I might even go as far to say this a very successfull troll thread.
