Looks much much more natural and better overall.

UPDATE: New version is out with 2 new variations to choose from. Should help those that didn't like the normal one :D

looks nice but the water seems too still, even in the rivers and next to the waterfalls

Well people erotically asphyxiate themselves in batman costumes so ninja turtles getup?

They both look great. The mod looks like the water is just calmer.

Skyrim water looks amazing, wouldn't want to change it, looks so real right now. That water looks too calm personally.

Skyrim's water is shallow... the mod version looks like deep water (still waters run deep and all that). Both are right... also remember that Skyrim water is most likely ice runoff and that has minerals in it that make it glisten like the way it shows in the default vanilla.

One of the things I really like about the vanilla water is how it is set up to look like the water is actually roiling and babbling when really, all that's going on is two water planes are being cross-panned. That water texture is a masterpiece. Every water texture mod I've seen fails to accomplish that, and so the cross-panning Skyrim uses to animate the water is much more noticeable and the water animation looks forced.

The upside is this water mod makes it a lot easier to see the reflections. But I prefer vanilla to this one.

I prefer vanilla, it looks rougher and faster. Also I don't like the little specks of reflection on the modded version.

Well it's a step in the right direction imo.

The vanilla water has little to no reflections on it aside from the sun.

Once the modders have it so it changes based on current it will look much better. It will definitely look better once the kit comes out though. It's just nice to see people working on this.

Water is supposed to reflect. Vanilla water looks great but all it had were sun reflections.

There's a happy medium here somewhere. I agree that the vanilla is a tad too rough, but that mod's water is way too still.

No, because a lot of the rivers in Skyrim are rapids, so lots of foam makes sense.

The modded water looks kinda dull to me. I like the vivid feel of the Vanilla water even if it is overly animated. I don't require an over abundance of realism in this game. sometimes making it too realistic makes it too close to real life and I'm trying to get away from that when I'm playing this game, cause real life svcks.

Agree here. It looks good, but makes the water look too still. Like with the water wheel, the moving water looked natural, and the still looked like crap around the wheel. However, the still water looked better around Solitide and the northern coast.

Agreed.

I'm sure the modder will improve that in later versions though. It was just released yesterday so give it time.

I'm personally going to keep my eye on it and continue using it. This is the same modder that made the awesome sun glare mod: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=116

Both default water and that mods water have their places, some of those scenes looked much better with the vanilla water, the mill and the sea especially. A single look for water will never work for every area no matter how hard anyone tries. I'll stick to vanilla personally because the still waters clashed more heavily in the scenes where it should be turbulent then the vanilla water clashed with the calmer scenes.
