This is how tes v SHOULD look like :'(

I mean, it's just a real world photo processed by photoshop, but wouldn't you wish that's how tes v should look like? the grass don't look like just green patches, they have texture. the mountains aren't height maps, they are actually large pieces of rocks. the bottom of the water isn't just flat, but with bumps and prints. rocks are small and scattered, random shaped rather than huge boulders like in oblivion. And the clouds! the clouds hanging at the side of the mountain.

sigh.

Man, there's not even actual technology that allows such graphics...don't be a 13 year old whiner.

Skyrim is already OK for a game that gives you total freedom.

The rocks and stuff look very realistic already. Jesus if you want to see the real life rocks, then go outside.. It's still a game remember! :whistling:

I dream of the day i can play a TES game with graphics like that. But then again I am the kind of guy who can play a game just because of it's graphics. Eyecandy is always good. Infact the reason why i discovered TES was because oblivion looked so damn i good. At the time it was awsome, and to some extent it still is.

Oblivion with mods still look awsome. And Oblivion doesnt look bad at all concidering the size.

If you like crysis so much, why aren't you playing it?

Because Crysis and TES is far from the same (it's not even an RPG).

I love the TES lore and atmosphere. Especially the atmosphere actually. I love their view of gameplay and I love their view of how an RPG should be like.

Bringing in awesome graphics like in Crysis would be like a full completion of awesomeness. With "pretty nice graphics", it's not a complete circle :(

To be honest though, I'd be happy if the game looks like this:

You shouldn't compare an open-world RPG's graphics to an FPS's graphics, especially not Crysis which is still considered to be the most visually appealing game currently despite being released in 2007.

Woman A says: men have much better opportunities! they get paid more and they enjoy higher social status.
Woman B says: why don't you change your six and become a man?

That's why I posted that I would be happy if graphics looked like the game "The Hunter" and "Red Dead Redemption".
Red Dead Redemption is fully comparable. It's a console game, huge world, lots of quest, lots of stuff to do, very nice graphics, etc.

I'm not 100% sure yet about the graphics though. What I've looked at have been rather blurry photos...

Woman A: i don't want to be a man, i just wish i had the graphics of a man (the [censored] <------pencil?)

RDR uses premade and proven engines (RAGE + Euphoria) while Skyrim will use a new inhouse engine, one that Bethesda built specifically for Skyrim. Why wouldn't bethesda use a current engine instead of making a new one from scratch (supposedly), they must have a reason...

I've read some more and I think perhaps it was overreacting. The images I've seen so far though have been really low-res. Hard to see...
I wanna see a real in-game high res picture :D

well it's not the resolution... its the fact that it still looks like oblivion.

remember the release date of skyrim is 5 and half years since oblivion, and bethesda hasn't shown any improvement in their graphics ability (through FO series) in the mean time. Back when OB came out the graphics was top in the industry. I'm not sure about skyrim.

Let's piss away all the money on Graphics instead of making a game with fun gameplay.

of course it does make sense.

what doesn't make sense is that the graphics didn't improve over 5 years. does it?
