My Fallout 4 release day plans are officially ruined :sadvaultboy:

This email comes from my Boss's Boss's Boss, which means, I can't reject the meeting invite. Oh, and I have to give a presentation -- isn't that just awesome.

I was going to call in sick Tuesday and Wednesday, there's a bad bug going around, dont' you know

Anyone else have to work and as bummed as me??

He gave you an out - just convince enough people they need more time to prepare and it gets put off a month.

Yeah, it's tempting, but when this person emails you, it's best not to weasel out. Trust me, I really want out of it, but I can't

Just tell him you can't work because an important video game has been released. Works every time.

It's a game...had the same thing happen when Borderlands 2 came out. I missed the first 4 days of it all the while my roommate was sending me texts/pics/video of him playing. I HAVE KILLED FOR LESS GINGER CHRIS!!!!!!!!!!....but this too shall pass. It will make the game all the more worth playing.

You got the rest of your life to play fallout- and you've been waiting this long so what's 2 extra days? Knock this work presentation out of the park, then the reward of playing will feel that much better

I'm leaving on a business trip on the 9th, get back home the 12th. I won't even get to physically look at my Pip-Boy edition until the 12th. Probably won't have time to play until Thanksgiving week due to work trips and other obligations...

Man that svcks. I work a seasonal job in the spring summer and fall, so my winter layoff hits today once i finish work. And my winter job doesn't start until after thanksgiving, so im ending up with a solid chunk of time to play inbetween doing what needs to get done around the house on my 3 weeks off.

Hahaha, "Yeah, sorry I'm too big of a nerd to come into work today"

My wife and I just had a baby earlier in the year, and I burned through all of my vacation already (which svcks, btw), so I couldn't book any days off

EDIT: The lack of vacation svcks, not the baby haha. My kiddo rocks.

That svcks. I kind of get how you feel though, I have a test for a 4th year course on Tuesday, so even though I'll have it Monday at 10 I can't play it.

Look at it this way - any major bugs will be caught and ironed out (hopefully) by the time you start playing.

When your boss's boss's boss says something like that it is just to be nice and appear like a reasonable considerate person.

You are expected to read between the lines and do it.

Two words that will make your life easier are "yes boss"

It's not work, but my in-laws have decided to come for a week-long visit next week (my wife's birthday is on the 11th). Looks like I won't get much chance to play Fallout 4 until the weekend (maybe an hour here or there if I forego some sleep). On the plus side, my wife goes away for a business trip on that Friday, so I'll have the full weekend and following week for non-stop uninterrupted gaming.

Instead of calling in sick Tuesday/Wednesday. Why not, do the meeting then call in sick Thursday/Friday and have a long uninterrupted weekend of glorious post-apocalyptica.

Luckily, I booked holidays the morning after Bethcon.

My son is two and a half. I am only now getting back into gaming. I took off two weeks (took this long to save up my time to keep a buffer for him, and have time off) and I will still only have time to play during the day. Thank god for Day Care!
