This just in.... "hard core" gamers svck.

Need proof? come here to the Crysis 2 forums! Where you can see literally thousands of threads talking about how the game svcks because you dont need a system built by nasa to run it,

You shouldn't talk about "proof" unless you can prove something. Sure, there are some, but few actually whine only about too low system reqs. You may want to think all those thousands of posts are about the GFX, and while I do agree it's silly to complain only about GFX, it is most certainly not the only thing downgraded and complained about in this game.

I think concidering the very first 2 posts, I proved it quite well, thank you. That said, basically all Ive heard are a smattering of graphics complaints, a TON of "NO DX11," a few crashes (that's legit... not being able to play what you bought svcks), and several people telling me a game ending bug happens... which once I saw the "fix" realized I had had as well... only to go right through without thinking about it... it clearly doesn't end your game if you think like a gamer... and your goal is to get to the end of the level.

You obviously like CoD style fun, but why take it for granted everyone else likes it, as it's completely different from FarCry and Crysis? I agree, C2 is fun DM MP, but we already have plenty of CoD clones and can easily see why some of Crysis fans would be disappointed.

Never played CoD.... but considering the fun for me is the use of the suit's powers, I dont think you are right here... sorry...

Won't be fixing the fact that SP gameplay is mostly a corridor shooter with ridiculous A.I soldiers randomly scattered on the roads. Very sophisticated. I mean, why the hell make an urban combat game if you can't really make it one? One of the greatest griefs for me is the gameplay. I expected something like in C1, korean squads hunting and ambushing me. This is a far cry from it.

The MP is like a good and more fun CoD game. No complaint there, excluding bugs, hacks and technical problems.

...honestly, if you want that in an urban game, go play Prototype or one of the Spiderman titles....

He doesnt get when we mean by consolefied. When we say its consolefied we arent referring to it being a port. We are referring to the gameplay. How does the game play? Well if feels like it came from the a Console and has been streamlined because of it.

I suppose it does... because they DID streamline things.... though I see a different reason then you. I honestly believe they chose to streamline to:

1) make changing modes faster....
and 2) They did say early on here the goal was to have you combining powers... and between the speed 2 buttons and the ability to use strength within either by holding down jump or melee.... mission accomplished.

Now do NOT get me wrong... I'm NOT a fan of the jump and melee timed to when you release the button to allow this, but I can appreciate what they were trying to do.... and not scream "ITS A CONSOLE GAME" because they tried something different.

Well you can't count what I said I'm just retalianting against the OP for saying "the "hard core" from the PC market just joined the "hard core" from the console market in revealing themselves to be entitled self-serving worthless little ****!"

But they have! I TRIED to take you guys seriously (if not think it was kinda dumb), until the big game ending chopper glitch turned out to be something I ran by without even blinking... game ending? only if you cant work the keyboard and mouse, maybe....

Fact is few people if any complaining about anything on this forum are doing so primarily for altruistic reasons. Further if such people even exist then it pretty much follows that they cannot think of somebody in greater need than Crytek customers to focus their altruistic efforts on, how can I take such a persons opinion about anything seriously?

How can I take someone's opinion seriously when their first words in the topic are they were RETALIATING ON THE INTERWEBZ?!?!?!?!?!!!?!?!??111!!!

And since when did the customers opinions need to be altruistic to be valid? Unless you plan to buy products on an altruistic basis then opinions based on altruism are in fact less valid. Since they don't give as true a picture of what the customers really want.

opinions can be very valid... like for example, I think about 80% of the people biching here are just self-entitled little **** who didn't get exactly what they want and are missing the big picture the game provides for their biching of the little things. This is a valid opinion of the group as a whole.

Just saying.

Sarcasm aside, you are retarded. People like you are the reason why games have degraded so much over time. Prime example, crysis 2. Another run of the mill, linear, casual shooter, that holds your hand throughout the game so you can never go wrong.

Wait ? Far Cry and Crysis 1 was a hardcoe game ? Really ? Being able to roam around makes the game hard core and not "casual friendly" ? Odd, I recall in Crysis 1 they had this little map and they would mark it where they wanted me to go and I remember when I didn't do what they wanted, I kept getting told I need to take out that Comm Sat...Odd, that such a hardcoe game would do that.

Don't you think you're taking a bit of an elitist stance ? If 9 out of 10 people enjoy farmvile, are you going to call all those people retards and idiots ? Even if that includes your mother, girlfriend\wife, best friend etc ? Obviously, if someone can enjoy a game of Mah'Jong, they are complete morons!

I do actually agree that Crysis 2 is nothing all that special, but I don't think anyone who does enjoy the game for what it is, is somehow sub-human.

Who care about the graphics or that the MP isn't like crysis 1 , or that they simplified this game for consoles , the real problems are the bugs , the glitches , the ping , my stats that don't register , my bullet that doesn't register , hackers all over the place , melee that stop working and a bunch of other game breaking problems .

Fix those and I'm gonna enjoy this game like I should have since day 1 , but so far this game doesn't deserve any of the 80%+ score it got from websites .

Proud to be an Elitist hardcoe PC Gamer.

Ah, so you're proud to be part of the problem with gaming today, then? Because generally I highlighted the word people mean when they call themselves hardcoe. Elitists svck. They exist just to keep others from enjoying something. By that nature, since elitist gamers prevent others from gaming, the are ANTIGAMERS.

You, sir, are a sad, sad, sad little boy.

You would have my sympathy, but when you want to stop others from playing the same game because they dare like playing it differently then you, you have my contempt.

Having seen the same thing happen on Bungie.net, i'm inclined to agree.

Honestly, I understand your frustration. I don't share it about online features, but then this was never a series I gave the MP a second though on.... that and I know they are working on it. (For me, I have found the new patch, for example, fixed the nanopoints reset and Im pretty sure it fixed my issue with melee stopping working.) I still enjoyed the game even with the bugs (though quitting to reload was annoying), but I understand this.

That said, a lot of these issues are EA's fault, I would wager.... they wanted the game out by day X.... and Crytek had to obey the publisher.

Love how you push your biching agenda of biching people on anyone and everyone. I may be an 'elitist' and a sad sad boy but I still laugh at C2's level design. I still laugh at it's A.I. I still whine about having bought a beta. And all I have to refer to is the previous games from Crytek, which btw I did *not* laugh or cry about. The exact opposite.

So take your own biching and stick it in your ass.

What with the overly agressive apologists? Crysis 2 clearly has a multitude of shortcomings from graphics and design to bugs and glitches, especially in the eyes of some of us who really appreciated the predecessor. I smell a vast inferiority complex around here to be honest.

So you're completely happy with your console game, why can't we be unhappy with our nerfed product?

Crytek does'nt need your help, they just need to release a huge patch and then we'll see if they can actually make the game a technical marvel. I don't keep my hopes high now that've played some of it. A major retexture job won't change that most objects are baked right into the levels which are'nt anywhere near as open as they seem at first glance either.

There you go with that whole console-nerf thing again... it's NOT PC or CONSOLE, it's Crysis 2. If you don't like it, they lost a fan. They lose enough fans, the franchise fails. Simple?

Personally, I enjoyed it. I wont say I appreciate all the changes between 1 and 2 (and btw... 1 may have been a lot more open world, but tell me that matters after you go too far and face off with a chopper without missiles... and a save-point kicks in to keep you there till you quit and reload), but Im willing to judge it on it's own merits.

If I didnt have a box-set to collect, I would have waited on this one, but I enjoyed it all the same.

Not really sure what you said here. Anti-gamer? Yeah, If complaining about a broken or sub-par product = sad hardcoe elitist anti-consumer in your little world, then fine. I'm glad I could help you make yourself feel happy. Before going out and telling everyone you were right for once, you might want to consider common sense as another thing than your XYZ though.

There we go with the whole "I don't like hearing it" thing again. Like it or not, it's damn obvious what happened to the game.

Feel free to love it but I don't see why people are so offended that some of us recognize the game as being a downgrade compared to it's predecessor, a rather unfinished one at that.

We're starting to see more rage fueled apologist threads than comlaint ones at this point so please stop whining about Crytek's disappointed consumers ;)

1000 Bucks says if this were actually what you wanted, Crysis 1 all over again, we'd be seeing endless threads about it being the same ****, different day, Crytek why are you so lazy? Crytek why did you put absolutely no effort into making a new game? Crytek why am i paying $60-80 (depending on locale) for Crysis 1 again? Crytek why won't my mummy tuck me in at night?

That would be enough to cover most of the cost of some new parts i wanna get...

Having seen the same thing happen on Bungie.net, i'm inclined to agree.
Amen. Im over there often and everyone whines and complains...

Mark of a great game? Crappy PMSing players?

Oh yes, the endless threads of "REACH IS THE WORST GAME EVER", "I WANT MY MONEY BACK" and "THIS IS TOO EASY FOR UNSKILLED PLAYERS TO PLAY"(...wut? Whats the point in releasing a game when only a handful of people are regarded "skilled" enough to play it? Sense this makes none.)

And then the exact same thing happened on IW forums...and Treyarch...and Codemasters (but they actually deserved that one, and lol, masters, how pretentious), i'm quite lost as to which game is the "worst game ever"

If you thought Crytek "didn't care", how do you think people would react to a console dev "not caring"....armageddon probably.

I think you need to justify this outlandish claim.

Well, He might have taken to a bit of an extreme. Since after all the Elitist can't actually prevent others from gaming. But in a more casual sense. The true elitst WOULD want this game to be a DX11 only game, would want a Quad core, 8GB minimum to run it. I'd imagine the attitude would also be, PC gamers should get it 6 months first and then consoles later. That is Elistism. Making or wanting the bar to be set at very high levels that only the smallest percentage can achieve.
World of Warcraft has this same battle going on internally. Dungeons\leveling is too easy...Not challenging enough, People are able to get gear that they shouldn't be able to. If you let some of those guys design the game, they Some want to go back to the days where only .1% of the player base can see all of the content. Because the other 99% aren't good enough to go where they have been.

The WoW example is the best example of where Elitist could be seen has anti-gamer. Their design could possibly cause 90% of the player base to quit and move on. And it's easy to make the argument that it's all ego driven. I want others to be jealous of what I have or what I can do and they can't.

Oddly, I didn't realize there was so much hate in the Gaming culture today. I was reading over on another forum, where they call PC gamers Hermits and then ****. This is an example of where PC gamers have apparently shown such elistism that they are now resented. Sadly, some people will be proud of this fact and think it's some kind of badge of honor to be hated by consolers.
