This Kalpa's ending.

Post » Tue Jun 26, 2012 2:47 am

When is this Kalpa supposed to end? Was is supposed to end in the first era with the Dragon War, but was postponed by Alduin being sent foward in time? Or does something like that happen every Kalpa, and it's just the normal course of things? Was Alduin even going to eat Nirn then, or was he just enjoying setting fire to stuff and being worshiped? And does Skyrim's ending mean this kalpa won't end, ever? One last question, but did each kalpa up until the transformation of the Leaper Demon King into Mehrunez Dagon take less time to finish, because of Aludin eating less and therefore getting hungry earlier because of the Leaper Demon King hiding away parts of Nirn?

(Also, this is apparently the 5000th thread of the lore forum :twirl: . But I guess that's not really true because of threads being deleted, the forums being updated and stuff)

I rather liked the idea that each kalpa rarely exceeds the Merethic, and this Kalpa has extended well beyond what is the norm. Whatever the case may be, the three Nord heros defeated Alduin by causing a dragon break the first time, and now Alduin has been defeated a second time. Whether or not we have only managed to delay the inevitable is another story.

This kalpa was supposed to end a while ago. However circumstances have led to it... not ending. Between Alduin being locked away and ultimately re-bound, and Talos holding up the Wheel, it's extending on beyond how long it should have.

Now all the Dragonborn needs to do is ravage the Thalmor/Summerset into submission (as is Dragonborn tradition, much like terrorizing Forsworn) so Talos worship can continue and things will continue on even longer.
