This might need to be "MOVED"...

Post » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:08 pm

First of all I'm sorry for not posting this in the suggestion thread (I couldn't find it) so this might have to be move to it, also if there's already a thread about this again I'm sorry.

Second: Now that the PS3 has Motion Controllers, why not make TES V: Skyrim compatible to it. Think about it now instead of pressing the L2 and R2 triggers to swing your sword and block. Now you can swing the PS3 Motion Controller to do it. It might make the game that much more interactive.

All that time wasted on resources and man hours for motion control. PS3 is different. Xbox is different. PC users don't have it. So why spend all that time and money for it?

Also I bet you wouldn't be playing the game very long for all the thrusts you need to do. What is enough? 2, 3, or 20 thrusts, slashes and whacks to kill one character. When will you get tired
and not want to play anymore? Can you do a 100 thrusts in 10 minutes worth of combat?

No I think this is a very bad bad idea.

When I bought my PS3, I did so with the intention of playing with a non-motion control supporting game controller. Otherwise, I would have bought a Wii. I don't want motion control.

Look at the bright side, at least you'll know how your character feels lol :whoops: :starwars: .

My thoughts exactly "why not" . I mean most games comming out on the PS3 are Motion Controller compatible and if Skyrim is compatible you'll have at least the option to use the motion controller and if you don't want to use the MC's then you don't have to. Again it's just an option.

As long as it's not mandatory, I don't mind.

This. Motion control at it's current state isn't worth TES time, purely because it doesn't deserve it :)

I enjoy swordfighting on the Wii, especially in Twilight Princess. However, an Elder Scrolls style game just has too many enemies requiring too many hits each for motion controls to really be feasible, especially considering that PS3 and Xbox have different means of doing motion and PCs none really at all.

This is how I feel about it. Although for me it would have to be Kinect enabled since I play on X-box 360.

Because this isn't a PS3 exclusive, it's a multiplatform, if PS3 got Move support, 360 players would want Kinect and I and every other PC gamer would rage. Plus, it's too much work, adapting the gameplay to Move and then to Kinect is hard and would take too much precious time from the developers, that could be used to make things like quests, NPCs, locations, etc.

Also, to make a game support Motion gaming, the game would either have to be simple so it can be implemented later through patches, or build it from the ground with Motion gaming on mind. And both cases are not happening with Skyrim, and won't.

Let the casual gamers have their fun. As long as companies like Bethesda keep making proper games for gamers like us, I couldn't care less what the casual gamers are doing.

Actually, TES and other RPGs are the kind of game that stops me from having that feeling.

kinect can support it too, but it might take a while for anyone to get motion support, maybe for dlc.

You are sounding like some old guy going on about the "good old days when". Everything changes as new generations come along. Some is for the better actually but some of us can't see that. Unless we try new things, we will never know if it's better or worse. And if we want things to stay as they are...we will become bored. There is no winning for losing so...let ti flow.

I think the biggest issue for this, aside from the fact it would require a ton of development time for a marginal feature, is that your character can have two weapons. How exactly would you swing the second weapon, or block with a shield in your other hand? Seems like that would be a bit of an issue to me.

And what about all the other controls you use while playing? Would be kinda hard to move around while fighting with a Move controller don't you think?
