Oblivion's was the Imperial in the armor.
Now we have mister Nord in... some type of armor... what kind do we suppose that is?

fur/leather would be my guess.

Morrowind was a dunmer in Bonemold armor
Tribunal was someone in Royal guard armor
Bloodmoon was what appears to be either an imperial or nord in a fur variant.

He's Bendu Olo, Admiral of the All-Flags Navy, King of Anvil: Highlander!

Bendu's a steel-armed, Imperial prisoner, in vanilla Oblivion. In the Shivering Isles, he's the Mad Lord.

Firstly, isn't that last one a scan? There are legal copies of that image available.

No, longswords had a jaggered edge and weird hilt if I remember.
I'm pretty sure it's a shortsword being held with two hands (weirdo!).

No it's the shortsword, despite the dunmer holding it with 2 hands. The longsword had a different, more crude aesthetic.

The armor on http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/182643_496598861403_131368351403_6226387_4341385_n.jpg is (my guess) iron cuirass,iron greaves and fur boots. Those boots seem to be alot like Morrowinds fur boots. Also the pic from Gamereactors cover suggests we will be seing combinations of fur and leather!? Would be cool...

I love this new guy. He's making me seriously consider a Nord for my first character. I hope at some point they release a big image of http://static.zenimax.com/bethblog/upload/2011/02/167198_10150099679227809_103316012808_6163793_1100254_n.jpg picture as one of their wallpapers or something. I really want it without all the layers. Ofcourse it was probably edited quite a bit by the OXM guys.

I would not call them the default characters cuz they have equipment you don’t get at the start of the game. Also you don’t really have a specific default character/ race in one button.

I would say they were the promotional characters for the games. Bethesda picks a poor NPC at random and gets them to do hours of photo shoots to promote the game

I don't want to appear the crazy feminist, but I was just wondering why the default guy can't be a woman for a change. I mean, there are so many female TES players. It would seem fair to acknowledge the fact that the hero oft the game can just as well be a girl.

Or would that stop the male players from buying the game, since it would seem to "girly"? :-)
