This is not Elder Scrolls, but it is a good MMO

Come on, don't bash EQ, it's still more open world than ESO.

ES games are not sand boxes, they're open world. Just like EQ. ESO is linear PvP centric game, it's about as far from open world as you could get.

EQ was successful because UO catered to hard core PvPers, EQ catered to hardvore PvEers, they went after different markets.

ESOs caters to the same market every other mmo released in the last 10 years do. Which is to solo casuals and pvpers.

EverQuest was amazing for its time. And there were even more pathing enemies than ESO.

Part of what made EverQuest great, was uninstanced areas. Everyone went to the same instance of the area they are in, as long as they had access to these areas. Boss monsters were in the world, but too big for anyone but a guild of 50+ players to attempt, so when you saw it, you just ran. There are probably more quests in the starting area of ESO compared to EverQuest's entire game. And that wasn't a bad thing! You never knew who had a quest unless you "Hailed" them and they responded with keywords in brackets, but even then, you had to know the exact question to ask or the exact statement to say to progress the story line. THEN you have to figure out where they said to go, or what had to be done, by deciphering their words. THIS is what I considered immersive. Not this whole "give us 6 quests in a quarter mile radius" thing, then tell us exactly where to go.

Read through most of the thread, and what you said stuck out at me. Most people paid 50-60$ for their elder scrolls fixes... morrowind, oblivion, skyrim, etc. In this game, you pay 60$ to play 1 month, then shell out 15/month for the next 11 months for a total of 225$ for the year. I dare say, for that price, most people would want to have 4 games, and THIS game should cater to everyone, if for no other reason than their price point demands it.

You are mistaking QQing for actual informed decision making and discussion. People won't pay for months on end to keep playing this game if it doesn't deliver to their expectactions, and I really hope Zenimax hears them out, even if you won't.

First I seen wolves attack critters, stealing may not be in the game because... The thieves guild isn't out yet but that's just common sense, npc have jobs, people can't sleep because in an MMO you can't speed up time when everyone goes to bed.

Npcs converse I killed this guys livestock and he responded.

Also I don't see how you guys are saying it is missing the day night cycle when it does exist.

Honestly you are expecting it to be Skyrim online, but it is elder scrolls online.

that's one of the points

at $60 initially, and $15/mo afterwards

I can get my traditional MMO fix via F2Ps like RIFT or SWTOR

For that kind of dough, I was expecting a Skyrim like game but multiplayer

It is very much TES. My knowledge of lore is extensive, although nowhere near some people, and I can see the game as just the whole ball of wax gone MMO and I am fine with that. It's the first MMO for me

The game changes to allow that are large but they brought the world into it very well and I am having a blast in my familiar surroundings. This time my son and I ran around for quite a few hours in the game though, and that was new. I think he's sick of me actually but we did take down the Bone Balreth monster together and he should be leveled to 10 today and we'll go play in the real world for a while. I see I have a Forward Camp from last time.

Such an iffy answer, all Mario games are Mario games just because you prefer one over another doesn't mean all Mario games need too a be a carbon copy of that.

I think it's different from TES, I wouldn't say it's bad but it's different. There are some things that are still true to TES fashion but in other areas, it's hit and miss.

The only real way a multiplayer Skyrim Morrowind or Oblivion would work if it was offline. Trolls would completely ruining a multiplayer version, camping caves, camping chest, slaughtering a whole town of npcs, etc. It might be fun at first but a multiplayer version of those games would be too easy to exploit and ruin.

it's funny because in EQ you could do all of those things but it didn't happen much and didn't break the game. It added a layer of depth, especially when 50 trolls raided freeport and slaughtered a bunch of npcs.

Here's the secret to mmos, stuff respawns.

Well you wanted a multiplayer version of those games so PvP wouldn't really be apart of that since those are RPGs and the focus is a world boss. How do you kill people if that isn't an option. BTW EQ is an MMO.

If they made your version the game would be treated like GTA 5 online. SA-mp and GTA IV MP are incredibly fun compared to the horribly gimped GTA 5 online.
