Is this possible for a PS4 armor mod?

WARNING THERE IS A SPOILER!

I've had an idea that might look cool but I'm not entirely sure if it's possible but i think it might be.

Would it be possible to retexture Astrids burnt skin with the chain mail texture from the ebony mail armor?

I know it sounds odd but Astrids Burnt skin looks like quite a cool catsuit all in one thing when you wear it and your face stays the same so i enchanted it and renamed it The Assassin Skin Of Old. It has no armor rating but it can be enchanted and you can't wear boots or gloves with it but I'm guessing that could be changed.

Because I'm on PS4 we obviously (thanks to Sony) can't have any of the good armor mods but there is a few retextures which is why i think this might be possible.

Does this mod requires a BSA?

I know nothing about mods I've just based my idea on what modders have already done on PS4. For example there's a mod called the stone Lord Armory and it's a retexture of the Ebony Mail that makes it look like stone. There's also the Mystic Monk armor mod which is retextures of dwarven armor and the shrouded robes.

Unfortunately, the answer is no, it's not possible, the reason being that in order to retexture the mod it would require editing and repacking the mesh, which would mean including an external asset as described by sony.

So it can't be done the same way as the Stone Lord Armor mod? Thats a retexture and it's on PS4. The mystic monk armor is also on PS4 and that's also a retexture. There's also been a new mod in the last few days that is a retexture of the Dragon Bone armor it's basically a tree bark version of it.

You can retexture armor by using other Bethesda assets.

So, yes, this can be done on the PS4.

(as you mentioned, other mods have already done this.)

It might look much different than you imagine though, because the texture will not be able to tweaked or aligned correctly in any way.

You can just "paint" it on and hope for the best.
