Is this the most Active Oblivion Board

Post » Tue Dec 21, 2010 11:07 pm

I can't find an Oblivion board that is as active as this one, normally they have about 4 posts a day. I know this game is one of the oldest on Ps3/Xbox 360 and pretty old for PC but it still has a beating heart.

To answer your question; most likely yes. Considering this is the official boards, it has the most users, both new and old.

Welcome. :)

Same here. Sure for many of them, they are getting dated, but a lot of them you just can't beat the gameplay.

First game I ever bought for the PC. Never been beaten :)

A good gauge of how good a game actually is isn't in the ratings, but how active the community is several years after release. A great game will just keep going.

I just popped into the Fallout 3 General Discussion forum: it was empty, I was the only one there. As I write this post there are five members reading the Oblivion General Discussion forum. I think that says something.

It's great that both Oblivion and Morrowind have an active community years after their release. Imo time will tell just how good a game is and those two pass with flying colours.

I second the fact that this is most likely the most active OB board you will find.

I also echo Holy Assassin's welcome! :icecream:

I'd say you're probably right, it seems pretty normal to me that the official forums for the game will be most active. Of course, I don't know what other Oblivion related forums there are, and this is the only forum related to Oblivion and even other Bethesda games I'm a member of, so I don't know for certain, but it seems reasonable to assume that this is the case.

Since these are the official Bethesda forums, they most likely get more exposure than any other forums related to the same games, and players who want to discuss Oblivion or other Bethesda games probably come and register here even if they also visit other related websites. Not to mention that the Bethesda forums also attract players of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, who might hear people talk about the Elder Scrolls on the forums, and decide to try it, which can potentially bring new fans in, if they like what they see.

This is the only gaming board I've joined, and Oblivion was the first game I'd played in 20 years. I was so lost and frustrated when I first started playing a little over a year ago! I'm glad I stuck with it until things started to "click". I've since purchased Fallout 3 and Dragon Age. Love Fallout 3, but I'm finding Dragon Age a bit hard to get into and keep coming back to the Bethesda games.

I really enjoy this group and the support I get here when I ask my major noob questions. I'm new to owning a decent computer as well. The folks here were a big help when I needed to pick out a new PC. I'm glad I followed their advice on a graphics card upgrade.

It's great to find the interest in Oblivion still going strong. I love this game and still play it almost every day. I now have the GOTY edition and have added the OOO and the Lost Spires mods, which adds and improves a lot of the original content and game play.

I've come across a few Oblivion boards, but this is definitely the most active one I've seen, by far. :) And like Holy Assassin said, it makes sense for the official boards to be the most active. So the answer to your question is most likely yes.

And welcome from me as well! :wavey:

EDIT // And to the other part of your post, Oblivion is the newest PC game I own. :P It's not even that old, really...

I've received a lot of help through this board too, top notch!

The thing that still baffles me is the mod community. There are sooooo many mods and multiple ways of installing them. It'd be sweet if they were a bit easier to handle for us lo-techs.
