This is the single glitchiest game I have ever owned.

Post » Wed Jul 21, 2010 5:10 am

This game could've been so much better, but obviously these people don't know how to make games that don't have the most [censored] glitches. I have had multiple game ending glitches, and now I have another.

The freezing is just terrible. The game continues to freeze at the end of this conversation, without fail. Making me unable to complete this quest. Good job Bethesda/Obsidian. And don't even say Bethesda didn't make the game, Fallout 3 had the same [censored] problems. Learn to actually play your games before putting them on the market. This game is impossible to enjoy when every 5 minutes or less there is another glitch.

Did you update it and are you on pc. The unupdated game was pretty buggy and there are know issues with several different pc drivers.

And I am on Xbox 360 so it is updated, and STILL ridiculously glitchy. I wish I was on pc because many people come out with unofficial patches for all of Bethesda's horrible glitchy titles.

umad? This game is glitchy, I wish I could actually play it, but oh wait, I can't. I am on my 8+ character, and I still haven't been able to make it to New Vegas for various reasons. I even had an unkillable gecko, twice.

Check your game for scratches, dust out that 360 of yours and maybe clear out your file caches ( that one seems to help with the lag). Thing is if you clear it out, it deletes your auto save.

For its size and complexity I'm actually surprised it isn't more glitchy. Aside from some graphical glitches I haven't experienced any problems. But yeah, they should've probably tested it out more.

Oblivion didn't have near the amount of glitches, and neither did fallout 3. MMORPGs are bigger than this and don't have this many glitches. No excuses work for this. It takes me forever to find a workaround for some of them, some workarounds involve me finishing quests in ways I don't want to, or sometimes I have to entirely bypass mid-quest. Now I can't even play through the main quest because every time I walk through this door in the casino the game becomes unreadable. This is also a brand new Xbox, I had all these problems with the last one too. This game is a joke and a total disgrace to Fallout.

i kinda like their glitches. some are annoying but most are funny and create bizarre scenarios that i couldn't recreate if i tried.

Really, we think it does really well to honor Fallout. Unless you meant Fallout 3, because i meant Fallout.

The only real one I had was when it first came out, with ED-E crashing my game. Otherwise I'm relatively glitch free as well. Though I am probably forgetting about some. :whistling:

+1 Mako, I'm glad someone is finally comparing FNV to games in the series that are not Fallout 3.

Playing on PC helps lot, since many modders are doing the developers job for them. (Some people are saying that the developers are putting less and less effort on the games (at least stability wise: for example, BOTH fallout 3 and NV doesn't support ram size bigger than 2gb WTH!?) as time goes on and I am afraid they are write about it)

Regarding FONV, I thought I'd give it a chance because I heard Obsidian worked on it and a lot of those guys were from Interplay and BIS. They have yet to make something I don't like. I figure there's bound to be improvements with that crew on the job. I've already heard that there's a much better storyline with a more satisfying ending. More importantly, I heard they beefed up SPECIAL so that now it actually matters. On the other hand, I heard that this game is a fairly more linear, and with no play after the ending. I also heard that there's a lot less to explore and not as much is done with the space.

I played Oblivion and FO3 for hundreds of hours, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. And FO3 or the rest of this series, this game is terrible.

It also helps to have the option of using console commands to rectify many bugs and glitches.

I have to agree with the OP, this game could've been way better stability wise. Obsidian should've delayed this game 3 to 6 months to fix the stability issues and other bugs/glitches issues at the time. The patches have fixed a lot of bugs/glitches but not everything. I blame Obsidian, Softworks, and Gamebryo for the problems but outside of that the game is equally as good as Fallout 3 if not better in certain areas.

Clean out your storage device, make sure you have all the updates and patches, delete all your olds games and start anew, and make sure your disc is clean. At your level of glitchiness, I don't think it's the game itself causing it.

I don't think Bethesda Softworks realized how much more complex NV is compared to the simple quests in Oblivion and Fallout 3. They probably did not understand that the quests were interdependent and with so many different variables the game would need extra time testing. That and they probably wanted to get it out of the door before the holiday rush and the blockbuster competition hit the shelves.

I had many more issues with FO3. FO:NV, had some crashes here and there, was unable to have intercourse with Red Lucy because the game crashes to desktop every time she changes to her nighty, and there was a quest in Camp Searchlight that I had to fix with console commands because an NPC was not giving me dialogue options. Nothing major. Everything else has been smooth as butter.

Seen way buggier games in the past. For sure.

That level of glitchiness shouldn't be happening if you can run both F3 and Oblivion. Clean that Xbox of yours out. Something is causing those problems and it's not the disc itself. It really isn't.
