Is this the worst managed game of all time? POLL!!!

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:24 pm

I have to be honest here and say I can not really think of one other game that has had so many issues and so many issues not taken care of ever. First off they lied about the release of this game and what it really was, even to the point of pulling certain ads and media presentation to help us "forget" things that were promised.
Second almost all of the issues that plagued this game from its release are still issues that have been ignored or not taken care of properly. Nobody ever got their Limited Edition Stuff we were all promised that is just a forgotten issue altogether. Orbitals still lag out servers, skyline has never been fixed, and patch 1.9 made the game run worse than ever (especially for ati card users). Seriously they really haven't fixed a thing since its release. Ya DX 11 made the game look nicer but thats all I can think of that has worked?

This whole entire process has felt like one big con job to extort money knowing that their product was not right.

Only the cracked version lol, I was actually smart enough to go through the reviews before hand (unlike this game which I pre ordered, mainly due to how awesome crysis 1 was). I did enjoy the single player of that game but never bought it and played multiplayer because I heard of those issues.

Have you played GTA IV? Most unoptimized thing ever, yet the gameplay is great.
Have you tried Resident Evil 4? Crashes every 1-2 hours.
Crysis 2 just needs a couple more optimizations.

I like SP and MP and enjoyed beautiful visual and intense gameplay,
but I really got nothing to say about MP hacking problems.

It might be safe to say there were significant improvement.... over the patches, but still there are hackers lag switching, using hacks wisely not to get caught.

On MP hack prevention side, it is near failure when compared to PB utilizing games as BF series.

I still think it's one of the easiest games to cheat.

So about SP I think it's managed good enough now I am seeing them releasing DX11 and patches constantly,

But MP side, it's a near fail case to prevent easy hack problems.

Don't be so quick to dismiss the original poster, he has a few points here. I will say Crytek has somewhat, and this a stretch, redeemed themselves, but there are still so many issues, many from day 1 which are still present.
After 1.8, my performance has gone down drastically, menu music STILL loops, and nanovision still deafens me everytime I turn it on, and there is no known way to turn the sound off, and the list goes on and on and on. And don't tell me ''oh those are just small things that aren't important'', well you're wrong, its the little things that make a good game great, something Crysis 2 could have been, but I digress. If Crysis 2 was pc only like it should have been, so many of these problems probably wouldn't even be present/taken care of.
That being said, I still like the game and play it from time to time so I don't want to hear I'm hating or some stupid sh*t

See at least somebody gets it. Yes I do have fun playing it, but it has been a huge headache after patch 1.9 has messed with performance so much. Taking a hit on fps is one thing but taking such a huge inconsistent hit (frames jumping from 140 to 22 during gameplay?) is ridiculous. I wasn't really talking about are you having fun playing. I am talking about the mistakes and mismanagement that is going on with just about everything they have done.

I liked the single player. The multiplayer ... I svck. Bad. I get killed so many more times than I get kills. BUT I have fun playing it. I don't think it's worse after each patch, and I have seen some real improvements. So for me, I think the game is ok. I have seen a LOT worse, so I'm more tolerant of the issues.

Black Ops on ps3 -> worst big name console game launch ever; tons of bugs, didn't get fixed for months.

Killzone 3 -> lost of problems, and only now is the game playable for a lot of people.

This game: the only thing I have an issue with is that pirating people can sometimes play the game, and that the game is EXTREMELY hard to play on a lower end system. That having been said though, I just put the resolution down and multiplayer is working fine for me. I don't see FPS drops or jumps like others, so I can't comment on that for this game (if you want to see a big fps hit, try Bad Company 2 on PC when someone shoots smoke in front of you; fps goes from 60 -> 10).

This game is far more frame hungry than BC2 even without dx11, I have two 5770's in crossfire which I can pretty much max out BC2 at good frames. I can't max out this with dx11 ultra though, even low resolutions are hard to handle (and I don't see the point of playing ultra graphics below 1400 x 900 (most people probably wouldn't go below 1600x1050)).

Without dx11 or ultra there's about 20 less frames on average compared to what I'd get in bc2.
