I'm an artist by hobby and I used to love playing mods for Oblivion.
Recently some friends and I have begun our own video game project. It's been quite fun if a bit tiring.
I'm hoping to one day do my own mods for Oblivion for fun but also for practice.
Right now I need something to act as a fun break from my work so I thought I'd fire up Oblivion again. I'm well out of tune with this community and applying mods. It's been years and I'm afraid others may have even used my forum account (family). I've got some questions. Hopefully they'll find some answers.
Question 1: I bought the GOTY ed. of Oblivion through Steam. The game is installed exactly the same way but its folder location is obviously different. Should I copy the installation somewhere else on my HD? Any tips for steps I should take before modding?
Question 2: FCOM has greatly intrigued me and I wanted to download all its related files, however there is some confusion. The links for the required mods on the FCOM site do not all link properly or work. Searching for the mods by name in TES Nexus or Fileplanet do not always match up. I'd hate to start FCOM without doing it correctly. Any tips, hints or links for that would be greatly appreciated. Should I bother with FCOM or are there complete overhauls that might be a better choice?
