This Vault cannot fail

How am I supposed to know? Vault Tec are a bunch of bastards ;)

I would take to the Vault, for sure. But, if I were single, I'm not really sure I would. Stuck in a hole with a bunch of strangers I will be forced to try and like, or at least, survive with? I'd rather take my chances with the bombs...

Like I said in my OP, there is no catch, Vault Tec simply asks you if you (and by extension your family) would be permitted, it's a standard control vault in the commercials, at some point in time, it will be opened, but it is never specified it will be within your lifetime, would you be willing to live and die in the Vault? Or just try and fight outside?

Okay, okay, I was just trying to crack a joke...keep your shirt on...:P I thought you'd appreciate that I even offered a couple of responses, considering my actual situation, and if I didn't have a family. :sadvaultboy:

Well if all else fails, five-finger-power-play for 70 years in a hole isn't so bad...

Only if you put that skirt where I can see 'em.. you have a reputation of being a deadly skirt you...

But anyways... So, you are asking if i'de rather live in a vault... or get heavily irratiated, possibly survive and mutate or die from the radiation?

Ya know what,Vault-Tec was just a scheming money craving company,Vault 87 and Vault 11 are just TWO examples of this

Vault 87:PURPOSELY EXPOSED DWELLERS TO FEV,AND FOR WHAT? SUPER-SOLIDERS!

Vault 11:Purposely set a Vault AI computer to kill every citizen if the Overseer didn't sacrifice his/herself.

In conclusion

If i was in Pre-War Fallout

I would have better luck surviving by walking into a Mushroom Cloud....

Not all Vaults did this, Vault 101 was sort of an example of this, it's experiment failed though, as it's mission was to never open. Also, a select number of Vaults functioned per commercial claims.

Infantry, you bring up a good point -- if I paid a ton of money for a spot in a Vault, later to find out (though, the likelihood of finding out that it was an experiment is low, really) I was paying to be a government lab rat, I'd be super pissed. But Sir Martyr's question is that if you were given a spot, for free, in a non-crazy Vault, would you take it?

Skirt already proclaimed my point. This thread holds no false interests. It's either live in a safe 'standard' vault like the ones in the commercials or dont

As to Vault 112, he was a normal man, but the idea and fact he had literally, absolute control of the world around them drove him into a god complex.

Vault 13 wasn't bad, besides the water-chip issue. Same with Vault 8.

That aside... I want a clean vault... Not a grungy one like Vault 101... Btw why was 101 so dirty??

Can you read? This is a control Vault. There is no experiment. It will perform exactly as advertised. There are no tricks. There is no catch.

I wouldn't be able to live in a vault for my entire life, sooner or later I'd have to leave.
So no, I could not live in a vault like this.
I'd ruin it for everyone else and escape when I have my first chance.

If I had it my way, I'd hide up in the Himalayas and create Shangri-La with me as leader :)

But I would go to a Vault if I couldn't do that. I'd rather either live in a very safe spot outside or live in a very safe spot inside. Either way, it'll be a very safe spot. :P

I would rather live in a Vault than take my slim chances of living out in the wasteland.

I'd much, much rather live in a vault than chance it in the wasteland; even if I was in an area guaranteed to survive the nuclear strikes intact, I enjoy having running water and electricity. :P

While carving a wasteland empire may seem tempting, the reality is that an overwhelming amount of the population would die outright, and most of the rest would be finished off by their peers in the anarchic years after the war.

Immortality through ghoulification may also seem tempting, but that seems like a living nightmare in many ways.

Well, as i walk along listening to all of you and this wonderful debate( seriously, it is a good thread) I would vote i would rather be in a Vault myself as well, as described by the Colonel. Granted, the thought of ending up in a Vault experiment scares the hell out of me as well, but that is not the subject here. But I know i will not be in a Vault unless it is abandoned, so i can check it out for tech so the scribes can drool over it, so is my lot in life, back to other matters.....

Wait, so you'd like to live in most likely horrible pain, of having your flesh rotting on you, looking and smelling like a walking corpse, and having everyone want to kill you on sight over living in a vault?

EDIT: OOPS Double post instead of editing the first one XD

Yes, living in a Vault is much safer. But where is the fun in that :D. If i knew that the bombs are not going to kill me and i'd live at least long enough to start my survival in the Wasteland i'd chose the Wasteland. I'd go Mad Max on all their asses :disguise:
