Q&A this week!

I don't believe a word that he just said, more PR talk then anything. He said a good chance, good doesn't mean automatic.

There's no way he would be allowed to say something like that unless it was true.

Nicely said, but I think it's too late in the development to dodge answers "we're messing with this, we're toying with that". I think the game is so advanced that they can afford straight answers now.

That's what I thought as well until I watched the Making of Oblivion documentary - they had for example the E3 gameplay demo completely ready to go and one guy worked on the ending for a month straight, then Todd decided at the very last minute the ending wasn't epic enough and they completely redid one month's work over the course of a weekend.

The sense I got from watching the documentary was that the team has the capacity to keep adding, tweaking, removing, enhancing features in new iterations of the build right up until a few weeks before they go gold.

Werewolves being in the game is one of the things I'm most curious about. I'm also curious about the Volkihar though. I'd love to see 2-4 vampire clans in the game. It'd be amazing.

im not holding my breath on werewolves being in the game sadly :(

Yeah, and with a team of a hundred people, you can produce a crazy amount of content in a relatively short time. Even one more month of full-time development is a lot of work done... unless the team's slacking, which I very much doubt.

PS: Got my fingers crossed here for the armoured dinosaur mounts question. Don't disappoint me now, Bethesda!

I feel sorry for our Mods. The fan interview will be akin to the gates of Oblivion opening, and hordes of bad topics shall pour out like nerdy daedra.

Not that I won't participate too, of course.

I think the exact opposite is true. New information leads to new discussion. It's times like this, where new info hasn't been released in two weeks, that horrible, unnecessary threads pop up every few minutes. It's all speculation about old speculations and rehashing old and outdated concepts.

I've not been on these forums as long as most, but I can say I've never seen them as dull and pointless as they are right now.

Wow, seems alot of people want the werewolves thing in. Sadly, I can't say I am expecting Bethesda to say yes. Simply because they are devoting time on doing more heroic stuff like being Dragonborn

The fan interview is just Todd calling me on the phone and asking me some personal questions. Sneak peek:

Todd: So, everyones dying to know.... Boxers or briefs?!
Me: Oh Todd!! You kill me! Boxers of course, they need room to breath.

Look for "The Fan Interview" this Friday!

Considering the gorgeous character designs and greater complexity of the attack animations in Skyrim, it seems like it would be a major undertaking to develop believable werewolf character designs and attack animations for biting, scratching and overpowering enemies.

Considering the greater complexity compared to, for example, vampires, it might make more sense to incorporate lycanthropy into a DLC.

You are so correct. Even with a new engine, it might be too much for now. But at least vampires can be in the main game.

I would almost prefer they did that, and made it really epic with lots of quests and things. :)

Or "We're not ready to talk about that yet."

"When's the release date?"

I keed

Hopefully we'll get good questions. Some question may have already been answered with E3 though. And they might pick some questions that are worthless. But if we get at least 1 good question, I will be happy

Twitter lies. I wouldn't trust it. I don't trust anything on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Yourspace, or Mybook.

Im with you. Theres a site on Facebook called The Elder Council that has obvious photoshoped "screenshots" of a fake game called Elder Scrolls V: "Skyrim". And they say it comes out on November 11th! HA! What nerve!

i wouldn't mind a shapeshifting dragonshout only unlocked in a lv50 dungeon.
it doesn't go against the lore. in fact it is rather supported by it, being that dragons have the power to shapeshift and dragon abilities stem from the use of their language.
since the dragonborn can use their language it is certainly possible according to lore that a dragonborn could attain the power of shapeshifting.

I've got a bad feeling that the Fan Interview is going to be a bit of letdown

I base that on the Oblivion interview which consisted substantially of either giving information that turned out not to really be the case, or dodged answering the question with some sort of 'we're not able to answer that right now'

Obviously I hope I'm wrong, and we get substantial and clear answers to a range of pertinent questions. But I'm not getting my hopes too high

Of course, if I happen to be right, then there'll be such an outbreak of wailing that these forums will be best avoided for a few days.

Can't wait for all the subsequent bashing the fan interview threads.

"Not enough info!"
"We already knew that!"

etc....

Me neither, they're basically gossip magazines on line. yourface and ubook are crap....

.... but a light at the end of the tunnel is so needed..... this information draught is killing me...... I've buried myself twice this week.

Random question:

If a person with multilple personalities threatens suicide..... does it count as a hostage situation?
