Buhaa...hey you guys can read or do you?

This was a demonstration for the cinema edition of the new Cryengine 3 sandbox.
Maybe it will be used to create some ultra high end benchmark ..
but no hardware in the world could handle all of the shown properly when used in a game.

I bet my ass on it that 2 sli'ed gtx 580's could run that in a game realtime at 60 fps 1680x1050 no problems. There is even a showcase where they move freely around in those beautiful environments with no problems at all. You want to know why crysis 2 is a stripped down corridor shooter? Just take a look at this and you will be enlightened!

Edit: and one more thing, this is how unreal engine 3 + full dx11 running on 3 gtx580 sli mode, looks like:

Why we're not playing something close to this yet on pc's? You got it, CONSOLESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Crysis 2 on PC is no port at all. You can't make that claim without first playing the game once it's been released.
Also, that video looks amazing, but that is for Cinema's, like cutscenes and stuff like that but not for gaming freely.

That's very questionable, but even if it's true almost nobody on Earth is going to spend $1000 on video cards alone. It would be downright stupid for Crytek to aim a game at the five people in that target audience.

Crysis and Crysis Warhead looked *nothing* like that video, and they still give people's computers a hard time.

if crysis and crysis warhead are giving you problems at this day and age you need an upgrade.
almost any decend 1k pc bought in the last 2 years can play it on ultra.

If they could've made it look like that it would've sold more copies on PC than it will actually sell across all 3 formats. Might have been a bit of a slow burner though as people need to upgrade over time.

If 2 run it at 60 I'd say that makes it playable on a 570. But thats debatable anyway it didn't need to look even 75% that good for PC sales of Crysis 2 to top the total sales they're actually gonna get.
