So, this is what's happening in these forums.

These forums are divided between people who worship Skyrim as some kind of divine gift (for the mere price of 60$), and people who keep making threads of complaints.

Now, here's what I think are the dynamics behind this. First of all, it begins with the really devoted fan-esque overhype The amount of hype and fanboyism surrounding Skyrim is just ludicrous. I've just read comments calling Skyrim "a work of art", "the best game I've ever played", "pure poetry" and all other hyperbolic comments that frankly are way overexagerated.
What follows the overhype is, necessarily, the comments of all other people who, sure, are playing the game, but upon reading that kind of comments towards the game feel the need to point out how Skyrim is far from perfect.

To some people it is a work of art. To some it's mediocre. These are opinions. Deal with it.

I'm pretty sure we are all aware of this.
What's your point?

For a game forum there is absolutely nothing new here.

Trolls vs [censored] (wat, the word fan combined with word meaning young male was censored?). It will go away in few months.

I'm not exaggerating when I say Skyrim is the best game I've ever played. I come here because I like the game. Other people come here because they wish to voice concern. Two sides of the same coin, methinks.

I actually do think that it's the best game I've ever played. Am I not allowed to say so? That doesn't mean I think it's perfect. That doesn't mean I don't think it could be improved. It just means that I think it's the best game I've ever played.

Change is good. Some peeps here seem to just want an eye candy overhaul of Oblivion or Morrowind with the exact same gameplay incorporated into Skyrim. Bethesda won't sell nearly as many copies with a simple graphics overhaul.

Sorry to say this but... it's basically the same in *most* game forums. People just like to complain, nothing more to it. Im suprised you havent noticed this trent before = o

This is pretty much par for course for a videogame forum - some will be faithful to a fault, others will think it's the worst thing ever. Most will probably fall somewhere in between, actually. It's nothing new, and it certainly didn't start with Skyrim.

The beautiful thing about an online forum, however - is that neither of them are any more "right" in their views than another. It's all simply a matter of opinion and preferences. So long as those differences can be discussed without being insulting or demeaning, not only is there no problem there - but more importantly that's pretty much exactly the purpose of this forum.
