this is why (insert popular fps) will never be dethroned.

first hear me out be4 flaming.

games like cod, halo, battlefield have the most user base online is not because they are better than games like Crysis, but their developers are more involved with the community. when there is a problem be it a glitch ,bug, or even their community having issues with playlist selection. they communicate what they are doing to fix it or atleast let you know the process of how hard it is to fix and may take awhile. Imo Crysis 2 was a breath of fresh air interms of shooters because it pretty much mixed the best of all the good shooters and put a twist to it. but when problems started popping up and we turn to the creators for info or support , we get next to nothing from them . the fps is a very crowded market and there are alot of good ones out there so alot of fans have the patience of a 3 yr old when it comes to asking to fix the problem. we get no reply? we move on to the next one or back to old faithful (blops,bfbc2,halo).

I dont know if the developers of crysis could care less , I mean they already have our money for the purchase and maybe online mp activity means nothing to them. or they feel the're too busy to send out a cpl posts on the forums every cpl days. Brink has the same issue, great game with a cpl problems but the forum gets little info from the developers so the online playerbase is almost non-existant. this is happening to Crysis and if u scower these forums daily like me you dont want to see such a great game die off.

Maybe they did not take the course in College or if they have any College, the subject about Corporate Responsiveness. In American Colleges, you are taught that Responsiveness can save your reputation. I guess you can go hide until someone finds you or shut you down.

they must not be in it for the long run.they are a pc developer and got some quick cash in crysis2.it sold enough copies that in all liklyhood they are working feverishly on a port of crysis for consoles.itll get enough sales of the general public to be profitable.ill explain it like this they sold X amount of games and x amount of people have or complaign about the problems.so there is no reason to fix them.most people who bought this game will never get to level 50 much less 45 to see tooled up glitch on them.most of them will never even play on the supersoilder difficulty so theyll not see that glitch either.most of the consumers bought this game because it was the newest fps on the market at the time.they all like cattle ran to the store and thought"i bet thats like halo"and just bought it.nevermind us who bought it because weve been reading about this incredible franchise that the pc guys got to play....sorry i ranted a little in you post.be cool

It has more to do with an established franchise, meaning a bunch of guaranteed sales just because the name is known to be a solid franchise. Take CoD: MW3, I guarantee you that, even if they did not advertise that at all, it would still outsell Crysis 2 in an hour. What Crytek and EA failed massively at it was just that, advertising.

Then the game comes out, and it feels as if they have merely forgot the game and it's community. It later turned out that they had not, but by that time, a very large part of the community had already moved on to never return, due to the complete lack of communication.

Exactly! They just did not approach the community at all the moment we really needed them, now a small elite of us are still loyal(ish) to the game, while the game could've been so much bigger..

It's called perceived obsolescence.

Look it up.

But the plan backfired and did real damage to the dev's rep with gamers.
