I thought pre-orders were downloadable a day early? : Crysis

Maybe they tricked me with the "Day 1 advantage" thing if you get the limited addition but I thought I read you could download the digital pre-orders the day before release (march 22) meaning today I should be able to download it.

Can anyone clear this up? And if I am wrong, does it become downloadable at the break of march 22 at 12:00 A.M.?

I believe Steam offers a pre-load service for some games, but IIRC it's at the discretion of the publisher. So if Steam's not letting you download it early, it's because EA doesn't want that available.

And it may take days to download the game because the traffic is so heavy.

I wonder why they can ship retail box early but no pre-load.

hmm EA store will prolly have some nice servers to download from, so I dont think traffic will be too bad. still... Im worried my download will take 12 hours

I just received e-mail from ea-store telling me "your copy is ready for download".
But in my EA Download Manager it still show "unreleased".

The e-mail is exactly 12:00 AM my local time.

I think I need to wait longer for standard release time to be able to download.

****...I never thought about that the download time....and now I know the digital download has nothing special about it, I would have just pre-ordered to wal-mart and gotten it there right away. So you all are telling me this may take a while to download

After I received the e-mail, the game pop in EA Download Manager (just click the gear icon -> Refresh My Games).
But it still have "unreleased" status.

I wonder if i can download the game on the 22 th, even if im from europe. Also ordered via EA DM.... Status is unreleased right now. Will know more in a few hours, or in the morning, so i can at least play sp... Hope the region limitation is only for mp part...

Not large if you have a very fast connection to the internet. I'm capped at 7MBit and it will take over 3 hours just to download at full speed. With everyone trying to download at the same time it will most likely be slower.
