It sounds a bit like english, but I can also hear the similarities between the "Dragon Tongue" and the words that are sung in the chants. Especially near the end, around 1:10 in the video. Whenever they chant "Dovahkiin", read "dovahkiin, fah hin, kogaan mu draal. " and tell me that it doesn't fit. The end sounds exactly like " Kogaan mu draal-YA!"

Can you please post the source that says Todd stated that? I've never seen it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I do. If you were really following Skyrim, you would know that when the trailer was released everyone thought the lyrics were in English. This has already been taken care of. Its in the Dragon language.

And if that's not enough, you can find that in one of the other articles from that issue, the head sound guy/someone else (I forgot the name silly me) talks about how hard is it to write lyrics that rhyme both in good ol' english as in Dragon Language. Not to rain on your parade, but I can confirm that you’re just hearing what you want to hear. There’s no English singing happening—just the Dragon language lyrics from the GameInformer cover. I’ve listened to just the choir parts by themselves enough times to know for sure.

This part sounds exactly like the english translation. The mahfaeaal part, is nothing like what it sounds like.

The last part it could go either way. It really does sound english.

Tbh it sounds like a Viking-ish english. Something a Viking would sing if he where to learn english. Sounds absolutely like there's a definite touch of old Norwegian.

I remember Todd or some other developers saying, in one of GI updates, that it was their intention to make a song and language so that, while it is sang in Dragon Language, it creates an illusion of something else being sang in English.

The "worst" thing about this Skyrim theme though is that ... because we really thought we had the right lyrics before in English, now, despite we know they are in dragon-language, we still "want" to hear the lyrics as we did at first.
My head says one thing, but my ears say another thing...
But it could also be because it's an entirely different language and that we rather relate to something we know (English).
