I thought the reveal trailer was supposed to be in dragon la

You can do this with pretty much any choir-based song, really. My favorite is the “Saw Some Wookies” version of Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana.”

This is now ruined for me :P.

In so many films it accompanies some sort of epic moment; now all I will ever think is great big wookies.

Yep. With strands of sizzling, arcing electricity surging from his fingertips the blue-skinned developer sat at his keyboard and unleashed his furious might into this thread; smiting it and leaving it to die a slow and painful death.

I'm sigging this!

Just because you can make yourself believe to hear logical english sentences doesn't mean it's actually english.

No.. it's if I Was Green I Would Die! :P Infidel!
(Oops, didn't watch the video before posting. I thought you posted the real song. )

If we were to hear the original choir without the ffects, I'm sure we'd see that it's in the dragon tongue. While to may sound like English, to me it is not. The "dragon words" are also maybe close to the English "sounding", like how Daedric alphabet looks a lot like the common alphabet.

Listen to the video from 0:55 and look at the first post in this thread and what I think it says and tell me that it doesn't sound like that.

DOVAHKIIN DOVAHKIIN
NAAL OK ZIN LOS VAHRIIN
WAH DEIN VOKUL MAHFAERAAK AHST VAAL
AHRK FIN NOROK PAAL GRAAN
FOD NUST HON ZINDRO ZAAN
DOVAHKIIN FAH HIN KOGAAN MU DRAAL

AHRK FIN KEL LOST PRODAH
DO VED VIING KO FIN KRAH
TOL FOD ZEYMAH WIN KEIN MEYZ FUNDEIN
ALDUIN FEYN DO JUN
KRUZIIK VOKUN STAADNAU
VOTH AAN BAHLOK WAH DIIVON FIN LEIN

Dragonborn Dragonborn
By his honor is sworn
To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercest foes rout
When they hear triumph's shout
Dragonborn for your blessing we pray

And the scrolls have fortold
Of black wings in the cold
That when brothers wage war come unfurled
Alduin bane of kings
Ancient shadow unbound
With a hunger to swallow the world

If you listen to the trailer it does sound like your version but it also sounds like the official announcement that it is dragon.

Yeah. I can totally read Daedric font without even trying.
It's ridiculous, but awesome!

Had it been english it would have been dragon born dragonborn for the sake of skyrim as another said whom you ignoree. Also dovahkiin is not a name so it wouldn't be dovahkiin our king. And the high king of skyrim is dead.

Hasn't it sort of been proven by now that it is in Dragon tongue? Just considering that a developer even has explained it.

Gorbachev, tear down that thread!

Lol :D

The "worst" thing about this Skyrim theme though is that ... because we really thought we had the right lyrics before in English, now, despite we know they are in dragon-language, we still "want" to hear the lyrics as we did at first.
My head says one thing, but my ears say another thing...
But it could also be because it's an entirely different language and that we rather relate to something we know (English).

Heh.. just some psychological theories I have concerning this subject :P

I know! The human brain is a crazy thing. I still hear some of the old lyrics we "thought" we had before they released the real ones. That was pretty hilarious :lmao:

There is a psychological term for what the OP, and what we, are/were experiencing. But I cannot remember it.

It was speculated that they were singing in English, and everyone was attempting to post their own interpretations on it, but they have stated many times that what they are singing is not English. A developer even said this somewhere long ago when it was a popular subject of discussion.

The Dragon language is what's right. Every time I listen to it, that's what I hear. There is no English there. End of story.

This can probably close now. With the dev and the "Composing Skyrim's music" information, it is clearly not in English.
