Thought on the unridable dragons and the MQ

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 7:08 am

This idea came to me recently, perhaps due to my experience playing wow, but still a thought regardless. Todd has said that no dragons will be ride-able, but he never said anything about dragons carrying you in their claws. Thus I have had the thought that at some point in the plot, you'll goof up on something and a friendly dragon will pick you up and fly you to safety.

Just a thought, discuss if you like

I mean, sure, I guess?
We don't know anything about the game yet. This may or may not happen.

This is exactly what I took his evasive response to mean. If it was a no he would have said no.

Polls for the Poll God! Votes for the Vote Throne!

Anyway it would be interesting, but I doubt it. I'm somewhat sure that the dragons aren't supposed to be friendly. I believe that I read that dragons will be able to pick people up, although it will most likely be for an entirely different reason from helping them out of trouble.

Oh they will pick you up. But they won't be friendly, and they won't just put you down to safety...

An this is probably one of the reasons for not including levitation spells.

There is a shout to summon a dragon, and I have read that there are dragons who a friendly enough, think it was the red ones.

I think it's likely.

We won't control the ride due to cities in separate cells and all that, but a quest-related dragon giving you lift would fit with Todd's "not how you're thinking" answer to mountable dragons.

I always assumed that meant something sixual...

Do you happen to have a link to that? Not trying to be a dike, I'm genuinely curious. Hungry for Skyrim-related info, as it were.

The summon thing was in one of the Todd interviews, and I saw the red dragon thing on tv tropes.

I remember seeing the summon thing, come to think of it. I would go check out the red dragon bit on tv tropes, but then I would be stuck there for a good hour.

Well dragons can transport player character in their comfortable jaws
Or bring an alternative to FT and Missing Alteration spells in form of catching and throwing player character from Skies

But there also possibility thats at certain stage of MQ there will an friendly dragon thats will help player fight Alduin in Air combat like in Dragon Lance, or player by self will become a dragon thats only possibility but who knows.

I've always taken the "Not how you're thinking" comment as meaning we'll be able to go Shadow of the Colossus all over the dragons, as they fly around trying to shake you off.

Reminds of the Owl ride in Ocarina of Time! Something like this is plausible.
