Thought I would throw my 2 cents in.

This is not a 100% comprehensive list of my thoughts, or even meant to be the most comprehensible thoughts of the good and bad of ESO.

I purposely did not compare ESO to any of its contemporary video game kinds, competition etc. I simply don't care for the comparisons to other media. I based my thoughts simply on what data and information i received and experienced from playing ESO and 30+ years of gaming experiences.

These are my thoughts, in no particular order of importance.

Decent game, not worth the price.
Progressive world.
MMO mold, meh, sigh, bleh, changes channel.
No mini map, replaces by map/quest scroll bar, impressive innovation kudos and thanks, but still not enough back treading to actual gameplay because the environment design is still remedial
smoothed controls, nice
too easy, able to loot quest items without any friction or challenge, this will kill game
leveling incongruous with quests
too much exposition and poor writing
great intro, please do not add any video, less is more here.
improved combat concepts, but behavior is too easy or confusing
graphics fidelity decent
character generator pretty good, especially impressed with ability to create an actually artistically satisfying lizard man as i percieved it.
too much collectable /resellable trash, dull. Makes for odd alterior game play.
way, way, WAY too little basic physics, cause and effect
story ideas were decent, writing was very poor, remedial frankly. Unfortunately remedial writing is top notch for mmogs.
too much realism not enough "show me"
price is too high, but i understand the very good reasoning behind the choice
excellent item disparity per encounter
odd items from creatures
needed voice chat i felt was constantly searching for the button.
questing is too dull, not enough individual interest, why do i care?
character equipment is interesting at beginning but the demonstartive appearance in the character generator of a high evel character is fairly diappointing, should be reversed, why have scarred armor as a fresh spirit and then have emaculate over the top stage wear in the end? Ridiculous.
Music isn't bad, but again it's not supportive of the present nor is the lore and environment.
Character actions seem appropriate and well timed, but character "glowing" weapons defeat the imagination when trying to stealth.
Pointless extra skills for combat, what purpose in having 5 skills (plus character movement) that defeat an opponent if you only need 1 or 2 at most to win an encounter?
Advancement of class was very good design, but erratic skill acquisition after quest completion seemed odd.
Crafting is nicely conceived but the most basic start point of making crafting components is very difficult to figure out at first without reading the errata, but again who reads errata in a game where speed is the primary concern?
Which brings me to my final issue that I suspect all this pomp and circumstance to offer a more immersive experience is completely misplaced in a game primarily bent around power acquisition.
I made it to level 6 before I became increasingly bored and wanted a better vehicle for entertainment.

I don't think you appreciate the journey of the quest as much, since you're complaining about getting stuff to easily, if you spent that energy rather reading the quest, and books, quest items you find, the journey is completely different than a fetch and grab type.

You simply can't come here and complain about this, it's like spitting in the dev's face and the writers face who dedicated a lot of time to write the books, the quest items you grab, the quest itself, etc...

if you rush through it, its only yourself you can blame.

Quit at Level 6 in a broken beta, and decided it wasn't for you, eh?

Enjoy whatever other game you choose then.

in his defense the game starts out painfully tedious. by the time I got to level 10 (when the started to get better) I was burnt out and quit. it's up to the develpers to draw and keep the attention of players. obviously they failed at grabbing his.

Eh, guess it goes to show different strokes for different folks: My wife and I found even the "starter island" very engaging, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

I just can't stop thinking that everyone complaining about the amazingly done starter island don't even have a clue what is happening to it, spend some time reading the quest line AT THE VERY least.

Although to fully understand and immerse in the story reading the books and notes found randomly really create a nice fantasy world around you.

You can't have visual queues on EVERYTHING, read a bit, use your imagination...

I agree writing is ridiclous.Item system looked little dull to me too. I think the important thing in the game is exploring more than questing. And PvP

I just wondered... Often when we do such an anolysis we compare it to something else. Which mmo are you comparing eso to say quest was weak or whatever the point you are making (physics etc.)? Are you comparing it to skyrim? Are you comparing it to wow?

Because as an mmo (which it is), i think its a pretty solid one.

same but its corrected in the release, well start at the first city and can go back if we want to to starter island, so its already resolved.

I think the opinion of the OP is -- He is comparing it to skyrim (talking about physics, depth of quests etc.)

Its an mmo and in my opinion, a pretty great one for the price.

@Openong poster Well, it's certainly not for everyone, and if you feel that way, ESO may not be for you. You didn't get toof ar into the game though, and your 1 aor 2 sills may serve at level 6, but not at level 16, i promise you, especially if you engage in group content.
