Thoughts on getting ready for Automatron

Post » Sat Mar 19, 2016 4:50 pm

So I've been doing a lot of research on how to get prepared for Automatron, and it should be anything to support fighting against robots.

If you have a certain weapon type that you enjoy, say automatic weapon, carry 2. One is specifically for robots with the damage bonus, and another weapon as just your old main.

It seems using a combination of sneak, ninja, and sandman, can greatly increase the overall damage output, and flexibility to using your character with the environment - hiding, sneaking, etc. This will be very usefull for when doing the new survival mode to conserve animation and weight of it.

Using power armor is not for everyone. but if it is, then you know exactly what to use, JET PACK! It can save our hide from many sticky situations.

As far as robotics, either I'm too caught up in the action, or just forgetful, this perk isn't something to overlook. Mastering the pacify trigger should be able to turn combat in your favor almost immediately.

What other build could be effective?

Or you know, just treat them like any other mobs and just gun them down the same way ya normally gun down anything else.

What I'd like to do to with Automatron is to wait until Far Harbor is out and play them both for the first time with a new character using the new survival rules. But, I'm sure I'll be too impatient and won't be able to hold out and couldn't avoid spoilers if I did. I'm sure I'll also enjoy the content of Wasteland Workshop as well, but I don't think that's the sort of DLC you can spoil. I wish Workshop was coming out first, though ... it's the only one I'd be interested in fooling with using my current high level character.

it is a glorified mod why get excited above , plus that there are rumours that this dlc was Original already in the game

i will be more excited for far harbor and the creation kit these first 2 dlc s are lame and like i sais i think they are glorified lods annd content that was probably cut from the vanilla game

Sounds good, I have a full sneak build now with my Overseers Guardian. Think if im taking on a bunch of robots, il bring along my spray & pray. Explosions, explosions everywhere!

My question, pretty sure im near the end of the MQ, should I continue to finish the MQ and only play the DLC with a new character? Or just take my time with still my first playthrough/character and do the DLC with it? As I still have a few SQ to complete, and settlements to unlock.

The few things I've done to prepare is saving assaultron circuits in case they have some use and I didn't kill any inactive robots in the stores so I got a few easy locations to go for parts. Dunno if they'll be usable but their loot aren't that useful at the moment so

Oh, really? What are these rumours? Considering how many people there is already poking around all the game files I'm guessing these rumours would be all over the place if they actually found anything that points to that.

If it was already "in the game", why haven't they released it yet. They haven't even started selling it (standalone from the season pass).

I wait for the first two DLC and survival mode to appear, the I will make a new playthrough on survival with the female protagonist. I expect Far Harbor will have little to no impact on the game played in Commonwealth.

I'm debating about whether or not to start a new character.

Got quite a bit of gear stashed for enhancing damage given to and reducing damage taken from robots, I'll probably mix it up quite a bit with weaponry as up till now I've had no need to use it.

Failing that, Mighty Gauss Rifle B)

It would be interesting if the robots picked up roaming pack menality of Wolves or dogs, I'd enjoy running into a pack of Sentry Bots

Going to start a new game once it comes out. Keeping an old save with all the changes the various patches have made.. seems risky.

Level 1 trading stands fit inside 1 story buildings (unlike level 2-3 stands which either don't fit or the sign on top clips through the roof).

Oh I'm sure some folks are still eager to blindly badmouth Fallout 4 by spreading such rumors.

one friend mentioned pulse grenades, but I've always had problems with grenades damage connecting in FO4, compared to 3 and NV. This is not using VATS.

Anyone else have this problem?

I will prepare by not playing as much till its out. I have a game parked around castle that I just farm junk for and when it hits ill finish MQ up then head into the dlc. Maybe even by then any issues/problems will have been patched even but meh.

If I keep playing ill be burned out, especially if I start googling builds and go and ruin the whole excitement for the dlc.

The good thing with having played FPS since the days of doom, you learn a games grenade arc very easily (that said, dont mind the game giving me a helping line with the demolition perk ;3)

I found pulse grenades are wacky in FO4. I think other FO games one shot robots like an emp or whatever right?

Well in FO4 ive either not been able to throw the grenade accurately enough, it doesn't go off before the sentry moves or I notice barely any effect.

Ill have to test more but I really haven't been bothered to keep pulse on me this game. Just by lack of using them makes me wonder how much value they actually have this time around compared to shotgun in face+run away when theyre about to blow up.

Not on my most recent guy, but on one of my other characters I have all levels of gun nut and science, and I also have all the robotics perks in hopes that If I shut down a robot it lets me just dismantle it into nice shiny parts with no burn marks on them lol

surely the main thing to prepare is to make sure your silver shroud armor is upgraded?
