Thoughts on Real Swords?

Anyone use Real Swords? I was just wondering if you guys think they're too overpowered. I use the NPC esps where NPCs can carry them, and it is a bit gamebreaking to see most NPCs carry them instead of vanilla weapons. And I do use the Lo esps in case you guys were wondering, but even then, it still seems a bit overpowered. They do more damage than vanilla weapons, weighs a lot less, and are worth a ton. I even found a few arrows that did like 90 damage. I was thinking about turning it off, or at least use the esps where you can only find the weapons at vendors.

On paper they are balanced in LO esps... But they cost much from vendors, expecially with EE or LE mods.
I personally don't find them so often as you say. Maybe you should combine it with other mods too, such as John's LLO and Armamentarium Complete. This should lower the chance on seeing NPCs wielding them.

It's up to you. I f you are really unsatisfied with them, you can edit their stats in the construction set.

I have the Realswords mods as part of an OOO+MMM installation with armamentarium as well. They are definitely very powerful compared to most of the weaponry (although OOO hides some VERY powerful stuff that an observant character can find). In terms of balance, the weapons are as much of a handicap as they are a help. Encountering a bandit with a really nice bow at level 1 is terrifying, and thanks to the other mods altering the levelled lists, the content is dispersed quite well.

The only thing realswords lacks is enchantments. Facing off against enemies with enchanted high power weapons would be a fun challenge.

I loved the Real Swords, but yes I modded their damage values for my own game as I felt they were overpowered. Loved the models though!! One can never have too many awesome swords. :)
