Go to settings > go to Profile > click Change Avatar

You can use any picture or custom avatar that saved on your hard-drive (or find on internet, try Googling images) as long it doesn't use a lot of memory then you'll all good. :tops:

Btw do u think every unsilenced shot will show up on the radar??

It'll probably update every so often.

On a side note, for those who think that there is going to be an actual .50 caliber Barret, you're misinformed. The actual name of the rifle in game is unconfirmed as of yet, but is currently being called the Barret anyways for naming purposes. Any allusion to the 'real life' Barret .50 people thinking about actually concerns the Barret .50 that was used for sound development and testing (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TI_F6mdamo, at around 1:00 in.) No rifle resembling the Barret .50 will be in the game, but actually the http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sniper-rifles/de/mauser-sr-93-e.html. Source on weapons: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1173072-brink-weapon-derivitives/ The SR-93 in game will actually look something like http://img26.imageshack.us/i/sr93brink.png/.

Anyways, I'm hopeful that SD is still working on balancing weapons (and even more so on the auto-aim problem).

Yeah, every unsilenced shot will show up on the radar. Go out to a gun range some time and listen to those shots, I bet they'll be pretty loud. Now imagine that in a small and open area that's about the size of your average super-Walmart.

Is this a for sure thing, or are you speculating?

I hope the weapons are balanced. Black Ops has two or three guns that everyone uses and a few guns people use to show off their skills and their connection.

This is true. A player will be revealed on the radar when they are firing and/or when you run too close/make too much noise near an enemy.

(I know there's one other condition that can be fulfilled, but it's evading my mind right now)

Also, when you are directly seen by the enemy. Your character will yell something to the likes of 'Enemy spotted!', or kind of like in one of the older videos, 'Mucho bad guys over here!". Your teammates will hear it over a comm link, basically.

It's been in a lot of the gameplay videos, like the airport demo.

How do u guys have such COOL avatars????

I know Photoshop.

I play alot of Ratchet and Clank for the past ten years from the first game to A Crack in Time and its my avatar on the PSN since Deadlock was my favorite next to Going Commando.

R&C2 (called "Locked & Loaded" down this side of the globe) is without a doubt the best game I have ever played in my entire life... it's the only game I've played where I can't think of anything bad to say, and there's so much about it that's perfect. Best weapons, best levels and best music of the series too.

Of course, this could change with Brink. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm wondering how you changed the color of the revolver.

Going Commando (aka Locked and Loaded) was the very first game that introduced me to the shooter genre. I need to give that game another go sometime. I had a lot of fun with Ratchet and Clank games.

Only the revolver, not the vest, mask, shirt and eyes?

It was the first game that introduced me to shooters I guess (even though there was no strafing, lock-strafe or FPS view), but 2 was where I feel the franchise reached it's peak... though I haven't dabbled much in the new-gen games, since Tools of Destruction was fun, but just not the same.

I could use color correction to recolor The Bug's vest and eyes, and with proper care I could Photoshop The Eel's revolver hand as well. I don't know how you recolored the revolver, though. That's the only part I don't really know how to do.

It kind of fell apart after Deadlocked, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, Deadlocked was a pretty fun game, it just lacked the substance of its predecessors. It didn't feel like a Ratchet and Clank.

I just duplicated the layer, selected the aspect I wished to edit (eg. the vest or mask), inverted the select and deleted the rest of the duplicated layer, made any adjustments to the hue/lightness and exposure, rinse & repeat. I still have the build file, it consists of the original image with the vest, shirt, eyes and revolver all taking separate layers on top - though the revolver has a couple layers, one was just the revolver/hand and the other was the adjusted color and added sheen - using Hue & Saturation and Exposure.

If "Deadlocked" is "Gladiator" then yeah... It was heaps of fun thinking of it as a spin-off, but didn't feel like R&C. I gotta say though, 3 was the biggest let-down imo. Just felt uninspired and wasn't very memorable. I certainly didn't enjoy it as much as any of the other titles.

ENYWEYS, BACK ON-TOPIC...

In direct response to the TC's post, I'm actually satisfied 100% with the weapons. SD have been a little controversial with some of the decisions as to weapon performance, but by the sounds of it the weapons of Brink are going to be the best I've seen in a shooter. But that's something to determine at release...
