Thromgar Iron-Head

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 5:30 pm

His writing is exquisite and his word choice profound. Never has an in-game writer like Thromgar Iron-Head brought to tears with this ongoing debate of who Alduin is. Here is his masterpiece:

Spoiler
Alduin is Real,
and He Ent Akatosh

by
Thromgar Iron-Head,
prowd Nord

As my da used to say - Imperials are idiutts!

That is why I am riting this book. I ent never rote a book before, and I do not reckon to rite one agenn, but sometimes a man must do what a man must do. And what I must do is set the recerd strate about the god called Akatosh and the dragon called Alduin. They ent the same thing, no matter what them Imperials mite say, or how thay mite wish it to be so.

My da was never one for the gods, but my ma was. She wershipped all the Divines, and tot me lots of things. So I noe a thing or two about Akatosh. Just as much as any Imperial. I noe he was the first of all the gods to take shape in the Beginning Place. And I noe he has the shape of a dragon.

My da even told me the story of Martyn Septim, and the things what happened when the gates to Oblivion opened. Septim turned into the spirit of Akatosh and killed Mehrunes Dagon. Now I dont noe about you, but any dragon that fites the Prince of Destruction is okay by me.

Now I hope you understand the problim. Akatosh is good. Everyone, from Nord to Imperial, noes that. But Alduin? He ent good! He's the oposit of good! That Alduin is evil thrue and thrue. So you see, Akatosh and Alduin cant be one and the same.

Growing up as a lad in Skyrim, I herd all the stories. Told to me by my da, who was told by his da, who was told by his da, and so on. And one of those stories was about Alduin. But see, he was not Akatosh. He was another dragon and a real wun at that.

Akatosh is some kind of spirit dragon I think, wen he bothers to be a dragon at all (and not a god livin in sum kind of god plac like Obliviun). But Alduin is a real dragon, with flesh and teeth and a mean streak longer than the White River. And there was a time when Alduin tried to rool over all of Skyrim with his other dragons. In the end, it took sum mitey strong heroes to finally kill Alduin and be dun with his hole sorry story.

So I got to ask - does that sound like Akatosh to you? No, frend. No it do not.

And so I, Thromgar Iron-Head do firmly say, with the utmost connvicshun, that Alduin is real, and he ent Akatosh!

Sounds like the writers directly explaining, word by word, with what they did to the god of time and their way of getting out, to be honest. <_<

They're taunting me, I KNOW IT!

That's [censored]. The deigners can't just up and say "Oh yeah, Alduin isn't Akatosh" when the lore of Morrowind and Oblivion almost explicitly state that.

Can't wait till Summerset Ilse. Wonder how badly ravaged Auriel and the altmer will be when it comes to this question, again.

Also, the extreme lack of Shor, Shor worship, and the like in Skyrim makes me want to slam my head somewhere. Seriously, not one [censored] shrine for Shor? Is this Skyrim!?

I thought in-game books were written purposefully to be debated with other in-game sources? Aren't the in-game writers of these books supposed to be biased one way or the other? Look at the Pocket Guide to the Empire 1. The imperial bias is so thick enough to poke a stick at it. Thromgar probably has his own bias, and it isn't some hidden way for dev's to say who Alduin really is.

I see it as an in-game troll post. The whole thing had http://img.chan4chan.com/img/2010-12-28/1293518258879.gif written all over it.

Haha. That made me laugh. But the reason why I posted this was because of how odd it was to find a book written this way lol. Basically bringing a man like Thomgar into the realms of historical importance in reference.

And yes, he is a class act. :teehee:

They've had ABCs for Nords in Morrowind, with pictures too, and thieves writing books, who use very simplistic language as they wrote, more often that not, instruction books. But as I said, I could only see it as a troll post.

To be honest, I don't believe Thromgar either. And I did read the ABC's for Barbarians. Couldn't find D-Z though :sadvaultboy:

Yeah; this is biased ignorance at its finest; just look at his spelling. Not to mention his name. Maybe we are supposed to take it as misguided information written by a clueless moron.

But it seems to be consistent with a lot of other information the game is throwing at us. I'm with Hellmouth so far, but I'll reserve judgment on this apparent revision to lore until I actually beat the MQ.

Now if we can find an in game book explaining the other side, it would probably quell these fears right?

"The Alduin/Akatosh Dichotomy". Sadly, the opposition it presents actually HELPS Thromgar's case more than it dispels it. That's what started my worries.

Shame on you if you're taking some guy who can't spell at his word rather than doing the math (the dawn, Dragonbreaks, kalpas, Ald son of Ald) and figuring out for yourself. We're talking about a world wherein even mortals can be their own parents, not to mention immortal, time/kalpa traveling gods.

http://imperial-library.info/content/skyrim-alduin-akatosh-dichotomy. Could'a sworn I added it earlier.

If that is the case, http://www.imperial-library.info/content/oblivion-shezarr-and-divines has been invalidated by an illiterate nord.

I put him up for the fun of it :P. I did not at first expect Thromgar Iron-Head to be taken so seriously though...

However, it seems Thromgar may not have know what he had gotten himself into when he wrote his first book.

Wasn't really directed at you, but more at the general "OMG Alduin is not Akatosh cause this book says so! :ahhh:" sentiment*.

*Ignoring the other things that say he's not him. Paper forthcoming.

It's not the book, or him, that I take it personally, just what came out in its entirety. That book just happened to be the discussion, in which I found it to be a troll post.

Many Altmer of Summerset Isle worship Auri-El, who is the soul of Anui-El, who in turn is the soul of Anu the Everything. But if you ask the high elves themselves (as I did, when I traveled to Summerset Isle to continue my research), the majority will concede that Auri-El is but Akatosh with a different name, colored by their own cultural beliefs.

Stupid and wrong.

Wouldn't worshiping Shor kinda be... wrong? As with Lorkhan and Shezzar, he's the missing god. He's dead. Worshiping him would be defeating the purpose of his character, wouldn't it? He's at least mentioned a number of times in the game though, which is probably more than you can say about Shezzar. In fact, I think he was the first god mentioned in the opening sequence by the horse thief.
