De-Throned Is Reawakening From Its Slumber

Introduction

The Total Conversion of Oblivion, De-Throned fell into somewhat of a deep sleep a while back (due to unforeseen circumstances on my part) and I have learned many a lesson of the trials and tribulations of taking on such a task as I have, and now can plan in advance to the future of De-Throned. So the old team is regathering and now we ask for new member to join us....

What Is De-Throned?

De-Throned is a total conversion of the PC game Oblivion, it takes place during the English Civil War where battles, treachery and politics was around every corner. So we deemed this to be such a violent and politically driven era to set a game in. We Plan to create as much of 1600s England as we can, as we don't want to make it look too small so we don't know if we'll be able to have the whole of England yet, just the Key places.

Is the trailer even made in the Oblivion engine? Doesn't seem like that to me...

If you guys took the time (and the decency) to check their website, you would see that they made the entire trailer by themselve...

I actually did, you know - and it looks like it wasn't made in Oblivion, but rendered in 3DS Max or something. No need for that decency remark, IMHO...

I'd be very interested in seeing what the team has done so far, the forums are pretty bare, and could do with a media update.

Oi. If they made it themselves then my comment is actually a compliment. :P Looks like something belonging to a professionally released game of some sort so nya!

Decency. Pfft. :twirl:

If you got their site and look at the screenshots it is absolutely Oblivion engine their using.

Unmistakable, and not just one lone loon either.

Actually, that trailer has been suspect since the first time they posted, mostly because the screens offered on their forums as evidence of it's development were taken from an old zbrush tutorial on facial hair and don't remotely match the model in the video (which was likely a cutscene from another game, filtered with an old movie filter in a movie editor and subtitles added.) Pretty sure the movie maker just snowed the rest of the group though.

Yes, for the mod they are using Oblivion, no doubt. The question was whether the trailer was shot in Oblivion or not and I'm pretty sure...not. :shakehead:

It was not my intent to insult people. However some posts gave me the impression that it was just another rude reaction on a total conversion mod. At least these guys took their time to create something for their mod that hasn't been done a lot before. Even if their trailer is stuff made from a tutorial and premade stuff, so are alot of mods that add "new" animals or weapons which so often are just reskins of originals. Please lets behave like advlts and respect this modders work in a way you would like people to respect your own work.
