Having random object in theory infinitely introduce into the game world also svck, whoever didn't think about that should be punched in the junk.

Lol'd.

If it hits the ground it should be able to be retrieved without question.

Couldn't they have had throwing knives etc. behave like arrows in Oblivion? That is to say, if it's embedded in an enemy there's a %chance it can be retrieved, and if it hits the floor it'll disappear after a short amount of time, so the world doesn't get cluttered with misaimed projectiles but you can still grab that misaimed throwing knife if you don't dally too long.

Agreed. I love the spears, knives and hatchets, but I hate that they are one-use.
I suppose, by that logic, we should be able to retrieve lead from corpses.

If there would bee more thrownable weapons and you could pick them up after throwing THEN i could use them more. Some times founding even over ten throwing hatchets is difficult.

Sure if you are the type who would kill NPC for supply. Throwing knife isn't as rare as you make it out, but rather common for all general vendor.

Another significant trait of throwing knife is that it is a conceal weapon which you can carry into casinos.

"rather common for all general vendor."

Wow, there are so many things wrong with that sentence. They aren't "rather common", and they aren't sold by "all general vendor(s)".

You are the first person I have ever heard say that. As far as I know, Mick and Ralph, Chet, and Cliff Broscoe will sell them. Chet and Cliff sell them occasionally (usually 1 or 2 at a time), while Mick and Ralph sell 15 when you first open up the special inventory, and then rarely ever sell them after that. Most people I've spoken with agree the throwing knife is considered overall to be 'rare', and I think we (at least I) have played the game enough to visit "general vendors" a few times.

It could just be my game, since now there are 7 vendors I know off the top of my head that have stopped replenishing their stock of all inventory, but even when Mick and Ralph did have new stock in, they would rarely ever have Throwing Knives, and when they did, the most I ever saw was three.

If you want to share with me where you are getting this bountiful supply of throwing knives, please actually give me a name and location. Saying "the throwing knife is common" doesn't prove your argument. You need to prove it to me by providing at least a bit of evidence. I would LOVE for you to prove me wrong, since I always play as a ninja character. I've made multiple topics on these boards regarding stealth assassin play, and am dieing for you to prove me wrong so I can finally have many throwing knives.

I saw Kiplix's(or was it someone else?) video of FNV and his dramatic miss on a cazador with a spear was too epic for me to ever follow up on.

But no, I tried using spears with low melee once and it worked like crap so I haven't used any again.
Will create a true legionnaire later and use spears, knifes and hatchets a lot more often.
I "would" like to create a throwing weapon specialist, using only melee throwables and grenades but don't know if there are enough weapons to make it viable.

I really think they dropped the ball when they combined the skill sets, I would really like having those weapons recoverable as well.

The only place that I've ever found throwing hatchets is at Mick & Ralphs. Thrown weapons are just not common enough.
Maybe in a future DLC they'll make thrown weapons more useful, but I doubt it. In Dead Money the only time I ever used the throwing knife spears is when I was running low on ammo.

I like them but there should be more. Either more varieties or at the very least more of the base.
It's ridiculously difficult to get hold of them, especially if you're on the Legion's side.

I love the throwing knives. How is it that all bullets can be made but throwing knives are rare or unable to be re-created? Make combat knives throwable. Make a vendor that focuses exclusively on blade like weapons just like the gun runners focus on (what else?) guns. Come on Obsidian step it up. Knives could have been fixed in this new DLC. Are you listening to the consumer or just doing whatever you feel like? Give us what we want and give us a lot of it already, because we have been more than patient, even when your game had more bugs than a safari jungle. Throwing knives, throwing hatchet, combat knife throwable, a new blade vendor, and a work bench that allows for re-creation of make-shift blades. Thank you.

I really enjoy throwing knives, especially with poison. It's definitely a support theme/weapon, but you can do a lot of damage with one hit. It adds a lot of style if you want a 'hit' to be special. Saying that, in each game that I've started throwing knives are about the rarest thing I search for. Forget about non-radiated water in the desert, it's throwing knives that's truly rare. I don't really enjoy the bigger throwing weapons.

However, I just had an awesome idea. This will probably never be implemented though. In Fallout 3 you could build a rock-it-launcher. Why can't there just be a Perk, called "Throw [censored]", and function the same as that weapon. You pick up a plate, and you throw it. It won't necessarily do a lot of damage, but it would be cool. Maybe you could be really skilled and do more damage with a plate that way, or poison it. "Eat frisbee death!!". Anyway, I know this would be a lot of work for the developers, animations and whatnot, but to me it makes sense.

I would poison a Teddy Bear, and throw it at a kid.

Or

I would poison a stimpak, and throw it at an old woman.

See, unlimited options.

I would throw......toasters at Powder Gangers. Heck, they're so poorly armed I'd win easily.

I like throwing knives and hatchets when sneaking up on enemies. One is jammed up their skull while the other shatters their head to bits. Just wished they were recoverable instead a one time use and breaks in half.
